MyFAU was restarted at 5:40am EST this morning in order to fix lingering problems with its single sign-on connection to the FAU Self-Service applications. MyFAU was back up and accessible by 5:55am.
MyFAU was restarted at 5:40am EST this morning in order to fix lingering problems with its single sign-on connection to the FAU Self-Service applications. MyFAU was back up and accessible by 5:55am.
The recommended Banner Oracle patches have been successfully applied and the system was back up by 5am.
Pertaining the Banner production outage this morning, our database vendor (Oracle) has identified patches and other fixes that need to be applied to prevent the problem from reoccurring. The downtime involved to apply these fixes are as follows:
Banner test (banoradev): 3/12/2012 @ 6pm-8pm
Banner production (bannerprd): 3/13/2012 @ 4am-6am
This will affect the following services:
– Internet Native Banner
– Self Service Banner
– Travel
– Workflow
– Effort Certifcation
– Eprint
– People search
– Course catalog
Banner DEVL, TEST & YEND will be unavailable this evening 3/12/2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in order to install necessary patches on the Oracle database.
Banner production FAUP will be unavailable tomorrow morning Tuesday, 3/13/2012 from 4:00am to 6:00am in order to install necessary patches on the Oracle database.
MyFAU is back up and running. We are still looking into what was the cause of the problem. We’ll update this post once we have more information.
Banner is currently having problems. The issue is being investigated. No ETA at the moment. We hope to post an update soon.

Banner and FAU Self-Service Available
FAU Self-Service (including registration, transcripts, grades and payments) and Banner systems are available. The Office of Information Technology has completed the Operating System upgrade.
*** FAU is scheduled to be back online with FACTS.ORG on 3-13-2012.
