We are experiencing a network outage on the Jupiter Campus. The cause is not yet known but we are working to resolve.
We have a network outage at the Gumbo Limbo site. We are presently working to resolve the issue.
4:41pm – The AT&T problem with the T-1 circuit has been repaired.
Network has been restored to the Gumbo Limbo site.
Beginning on Monday, March 07, 2011, IRM will be upgrading the networking infrastructure to implement a redundant Internet connection. This upgrade will cause intermittent interruptions to the network and telephone systems during the implementation and testing of the new connection. IRM will begin testing the network and telephone services on Monday, March 07 between 12:01 am and 7:00 am. If necessary, testing will continue on Tuesday, March 08, Wednesday, March 09,Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12, 2011 between 12:01 am and 7:00 am.
Please be advised that calls between campuses as well as off campus calls may require dialing a seven or ten digit number. In case of an emergency during this period, the FAU Police Department can be reached at 561-271-5163.

IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health check on Thursday, 03/03/2011 from 3:00am to 7:00am during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted: 4:00am to 6:00am Blackboard 9.1 will experience intermittent availability between 4:00am – 6:00am while applying a patch to Blackboard’s Grade Center to correct a bug that prevents instructors from viewing an individual attempt when the Column has no category.
6:00am – 7:00am SMTP/ SMTP antivirus – SMTP/antivirus will delayed, queued and/or bounced during this time. Will affect everyone during this time. Wise/webnet2 (web services) – Web services and applications hosted on wise and webnet2 will not be available. Will affect everyone browsing www.fau.edu during this time. Banner student 8.4/8.5 upgrade – Banner student upgrade will impact those who might have jobs scheduled to run during 3:00am-7:00am. Jewish music archive – Jewish music archive will not be available during 6:00am-7:00am.
Please be advised that a core router upgrade will take place on Tuesday morning, March 01, 2011 between 6:00 and 7:00 am. A standby supervisor module will be enabled in the FAU LAN router. This core upgrade is not expected to cause any downtime. This affected all network segments including the voice over IP network segments. We are investigating the root cause of the LAN router crash. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The FAU Self-Service and Banner systems will be unavailable on Saturday, Feb. 26 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as Banner undergoes an Oracle database upgrade. This will affect the following services:
* Banner Forms (INB) access * FAU Self-Service (including registration, transcripts, grades and payments)
There is a power outage in the Boca Campus Library. Network is down in the east side of the building due to this power issue. Physical Plant has been notified. We will make sure the network comes back online once power is restored.
Network connectivity has been lost to NWRDC. Their phones also appears to be down. Network is looking into the issue.
10:40 AM – Terrie, from NWRDC, called they had power outage…at least an hour to come back up.
