OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. April 11, from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 04/11/2013 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

MyFAU, password synchronization, ePrint, lists.fau.edu, DHCP (WPA2/FAUguest), WebFocus, ReportCaster, Talisma, Banner FAUP, Phonebill app

When: 3:00 – 3:30 AM
Affected Services: ePrint
Affected Systems: eprint
Description of Maintenance: The battery on the disk controller on eprint is being replaced
User Impact: Eprint will be unavailable between 3 and 3:30AM

When: 3:00 – 3:15 AM
Affected Services: DHCP (WPA2/FAUGUEST), Ibiweb (WebFOCUS and ReportCaster), Ieadata website, Sacs website, Lists.fau.edu (Mailing lists)
Affected Systems: bba4, bba3, ibiweb, zen2, ieaweb, dhcpboc1, bacula, ldapboc1, sacs, frevvo1, pinky, lists, boc22cm102srv10, boc22cm102srv9
Description of Maintenance: These systems are being reconfigured to allow them to move between hosts with different processors
User Impact: The following services will be unavailable between 3 and 3:15AM:
Ibiweb websites (WebFOCUS and ReportCaster)
Ieadata website
Sacs website
Mailing lists
DHCP servers (networking group)

When: 3:00 – 6:30 AM
Affected Services: Ibiweb test websites (Test WebFOCUS and Test ReportCaster), IEA website, SharePoint, Talisma
Affected Systems: ieadata, idm2, ldapboc0, lintalon1, spapp1, talonx1, talapp01, nsboc0, owlapp2, ibiweb2
Description of Maintenance: These systems are being migrated to different host hardware
User Impact: The following services will be unavailable for approximately for 30 to 60 minutes during the window:
Ibiweb test websites (Test WebFOCUS and Test ReportCaster)
IEA website
SharePoint
Talisma

When: 3:00 – 6:00 AM
Affected Services: Report Caster production, Password Synchronization (IDM prod), MyFAU (Luminis prod), Phonebill app,.
Affected Systems: boc22ora01, boc22ora03, mcoracle, nwrdcora01.
Description of Maintenance: Oracle database patch set updates and host patch installations
User Impact: Affected services will be unavailable during the maintenance window.

When: 3:00 – 6:00 AM
Affected Systems: bba2, bba3, bbm1, dhcpboc0, lintalon0, owlapp1, idm2
Groups Involved: Systems
Description of Maintenance: These systems are being updated to Scientific Linux 6.4 and their Hyper-V Integration Services will be updated to 3.4
User Impact: All services involving these systems are highly available and there should be no end-user impact.

When: 3:00 – 7:00 AM
Affected services: HR/Payroll 8.8.1.8, 8.8.1.9, 8.8.1.10 & 8.8.1.11 patches (rescheduled from last week), Financial Aid 8.17.0 & 8.17.1. upgrades, Financial Aid Self Service 8.17.1 upgrade, Financial Aid Self Service 8.17.1.1 patch
Affected systems: Banner FAUP
Description of maintenance: The above mentioned Banner modules will be installed to the specified version in production FAUP.
User impact: There will be no user impact.

When: 5:00 – 6:00 AM
Affected Services: Talisma
Affected Systems: taldb01, talapp01, talapp01
Description of Maintenance: The latest hotfix will be applied to the talisma servers.
User Impact: We expect no user impact as talisma users work on the system starting at 8 AM.

When: 5:00 – 6:00 AM
Affected Services: EMS
Affected Systems: events.fau.edu(fauweb5,fauappsrv2,sql05vs)
Description of Maintenance: EMS, VirtualEMS, and Master Calendar IIS sites, databases, and connectors will be patched and upgraded to their latest versions.
User Impact: Users sessions will be interrupted and they will need to login again.

Update Network Maintenence Bldg 9 (Arts and Letters) 4/8 to 4/12

Network Maintenance in Bldg. 9 has been completed for the day.

Starting Monday 4/8 Networking Department will be upgrading the network equipment in building 9 the Arts and Letters building. The work will be done from 4:00am to 7:00am daily until all interface ports have been moved to the new equipment. All work will be completed by Friday 4/12. This does not affect the PCI network.
