OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Oct. 21 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/21/2021 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Description of change: ​OIT will be moving 2 servers to different hardware.

Expected End-user impact: During this time, logins for eduroam and wireless will fail.

Description of change: OIT will be performing maintenance on the OIT Gitlab instance for upgrades and patches. It may become unavailable for periods during the scheduled down time.​

[Resolved] University Forms Offline

[8:00 am] The University form (Frevvo) system has been returned to service. We are working with the vendor to determine why the error occurred and prevent it from hapenning again.
[7:45 am] The University form (Frevvo) system is offline due to a configuration issue. We are working with the vendor to resolve the problem.

Description of change: Owlpulse will be offline for feature improvements. Including proper routing of medical residences, and bug fixes that allow non-standard phone numbers to gracefully be rejected.

BHRIC Virtual Desktops

[01:00 10/02/2021] The issue has been resolved. The vendor has corrected the issue with their software and everything is working as expected. Administrators will need to contact OIT for instructions to connect to the administrative interface as a configuration setting was changed during the repair.
[21:00 10/01/2021] Certain Virtual Desktops on the BHRIC may not be accessible due to a failure of a backend service. We are working with the vendor to resolve the issue and will update this post regularly. If you experience an issue accessing your virtual desktop please report the problem to your IT support team. They will be able to work with OIT to bring the virtual desktop online.

Certificate Expired error when signing in to Canvas

Mac users running macOS 10.11 (El Capitan) or earlier are experiencing a “certificate expired” error when trying to sign in to Canvas. If you are experiencing this, click this link to learn how to run software updates on your Mac. Once updated, you should be able to sign in without experiencing the error.

We are aware that certain Apple devices cannot be updated past a certain OS version. In these cases, either find a new device to replace your current one or consult the FAU Library’s Laptop Computer Loan Policy*If applying, please mention that you are using an older Mac computer and cannot use Canvas on it in the notes field of the application.*
