Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 02/01/2024 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Server network migration
Description of change: OIT will be making network changes to servers which will impact their availability
Downtime window start: 02/01/2024 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 02/01/2024 6:00 AM
Affected services: Most services will be impacted by this changes for a brief moment
End-user impact: Any service may become unavailable for short periods of time during the window


Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will make some configuration changes to user account information servers (LDAP) to accommodate new projects.
Downtime window start:02/01/2024 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 02/01/2024 6:00 AM
Affected services: Applications that rely on the OUD (Oracle Unified Directory) LDAP servers for authentication or information.
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected.

[RESOLVED] Microsoft Teams Service Degradation

Microsoft is currently experiencing degraded performance issues with Microsoft Teams. This will impact sending and receiving Teams messages as well as logging in to Teams.

Updates will be posted as they become available from Microsoft.

In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


VPN Client Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be making a configuration change to advanced VPN clients to prevent an authentication issue with newer client builds. We will also be pushing out client upgrades.

Downtime window end: 01/25/2024 8:05 AM
Affected services: Advanced VPN clients
End-user impact: Users of the advanced VPN client will perform SSO authentication using their default browser instead of the FortiClient built-in browser.
Windows advanced client users will also be prompted to reboot their computer for a client upgrade. Mac users will be prompted for an upgrade but not required to reboot.


SMS Compliance
Description of change: We are incorporating language in the Native App, Banner, GradCas, and Owldone to obtain consent from students regarding SMS messages. This is to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Affected services: Native App, Banner, GradCas, and Owldone

Admissions Application Upgrade
Description of change: OIT will be performing an upgrade to the Graduate Admissions Applications

Downtime window end: 01/25/2024 7:05 AM
Affected services: College of Business Graduate Admissions Application, Study Group Admissions Application
End-user impact: The application will be offline for a few minutes at 7 am


BHRIC Server Maintenance (SHS SQL Server)
Description of change: OIT will migrate the SHS SQL server to a new environment. This impacts SHS and CAPS using the software Clockwork.
Downtime window start: 01/26/2024 9:00 PM
Downtime window end: 01/28/2024 9:00 PM
Affected services: Clockwork (Scheduling App)
End-user impact: During this time programs that write to this database will be offline.

[RESOLVED] Zoom recording import to Mediasite issue

Zoom imports to Mediasite have resumed.

Zoom recording import to Mediasite issue

Currently, recordings made in zoom and configured for import to Mediasite are not being imported. OIT is working with the vendor to investigate and remedy this issue.

Manual upload via My Mediasite is still available.

[RESOLVED] Workday Service Interruption

UPDATE 1/8/2024 3:00PM:

Workday identified issues with their Internet Service Provider, and are now using an alternate route which has corrected the outage. All systems are now operational.

ORIGINAL:

Our production Workday tenant is currently experiencing a service disruption. This is a nationwide outage, impacting multiple clients. Workday is aware of the issue and they are working at restoring the service. Thank you.

[Resolved] Mediasite-Canvas Integration Error

The issue with the Mediasite-Canvas Integration Error has been resolved. Links and catalogs are working as well as MyMediasite and the embed tool.
