OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Oct 13 from 12:01AM – 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/13/2016 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Echo System restart
When: 6:00AM – 7:10AM
Affected services: Echo360 playback​
Affected systems: Echo360​
Description of maintenance: The ESS needs to have its SAN addresses changed. This will require a system restart.​
User impact: Playback of Echo360 content will be briefly interupted and unavailable while the system restarts.​

PGP Encryption Server Upgrade
When: 12:00AM – 2:00AM
Affected services: PGP
Affected systems: bocsec.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: Upgrade pgp server from version 3.32 to version 3.4
User impact: Users should have no impact during this time​ frame.

Verasmart Phone billing upgrade
When: 12:00AM – 2:00AM
Affected services: Phone billing​
Affected systems: ​boc22comm1
Description of maintenance: OIT is upgrading verasmart phone billing software​
User impact: The phone billing system will be unavailable during this time

Financial Aid 8.27.0 upgrade
When: 3:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services: ​Banner Financial Aid
Affected systems: ​Banner Financial Aid
Description of maintenance: The Financial Aid office has requested that the following package associated with the Financial Aid 8.27.0 upgrade be installed in production this Thursday morning during the maintenance cycle
User impact: No user impact is anticipated

Description of maintenance: The Financial Aid office has requested that the following package associated with the Financial Aid 8.28.0 upgrade be installed in production this Thursday morning during the maintenance cycle.
User impact: No user impact is anticipated

Description of maintenance: OIT will add SSL Cert to JVM keystore
User impact: Service will be offline during restart. Approximately 5 minutes

[Network Notice] Degraded internet performance

FAU has lost it’s primary internet connection and all traffic is currently utilizing a backup connection. The backup connection has limited capacity so we are currently operating in a state of degraded performance and network connectivity to and from FAU will be sluggish. We as that users refrain from large file transfers until the issue is resolved. We will update when we have further information.

[Recovery] Network Performance Issues

The connectivity issues with FAU’s ISP have been resolved and the network including connectivity to the internet should be operating at normal capacity at this time.

Single Sign On Upgrade

The Single Sign system on will be upgraded Friday August 19th from 3 am –  6 am to improve system performance. During this time users may experience reduced performance when logging into some services.

[RESOLVED] Online Helpdesk System Unavailable

The issue has been resolved and the Online help desk system is back online.
