OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Oct 6 from 3:00AM to 6:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/06/2016 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected Services: OIM, Self Service​ Accounts Portal
Affected Systems: ​boc22oimp01, boc22oimp02
Description of Maintenance: Update SSL cert for third party SMS service​. This should resolve an issue we are seeing with users unble to reset their passwords using SMS password reset feature.
User Impact: ​Users may not be able to change their password during the restart process.

Description of maintenance: The ESS needs to have its SAN addresses changed ahead of the switch over for Oct 10. This will require a system restart.​
User impact: Playback of Echo360 content will be briefly interupted and unavailable while the system restarts.​

Description of maintenance: We are enabling support for encryption between our email servers and other email servers in the world that are willing to support it.

Description of maintenance: OIT will be upgrading pgp server from version 3.32 to version 3.4

Description of maintenance: OIT will be upgrading our verasmart software​ to the latest version
User impact: The phone billing system will be offline during this time.

Description of maintenance: OIT will be shutting-down several systems to convert their harddisks for optimal performance on the new SAN
User impact: The affected services will be unavailable for periods of time during the window

Upgrade to the deployment and Windows client management server (SCCM)

Affected services: All OS/application/windows update deplyoments from boc22sccm

Description of maintenance: OIT will be upgrading the System Center Configuration Manager server (boc22sccm) to version 1607 to support the rollout of Windows 10 Anniversary Update​. SCCM clients may update to version 1607 over the next week.
User impact: All OS/application/windows update deplyoments from boc22sccm will be unavailable during the upgrade​

Network Notice – Degraded Internet Performance

FAU’s primary internet connection is unavailable due to a possible fiber cut beyond FAU’s control. FAU is currently operating over a slower, secondary connection. All services are currently available, but network speeds to the internet will be slower than normal until FAU’s primary internet connection is restored.

Single Sign On Upgrade

The Single Sign system on will be upgraded Friday August 19th from 3 am –  6 am to improve system performance. During this time users may experience reduced performance when logging into some services.

[RESOLVED] Online Helpdesk System Unavailable

The issue has been resolved and the Online help desk system is back online.

SSO Maintenance

We are experiencing minor performance issues on the original single sign on servers affecting logins to Reports.fau.edu, Student On Boarding, Banner Self Service and other central authentication services. We are currently rebooting the servers to increase their performance.

Description of maintenance: The University Single Sign On infrastructure will be patched to provide enhanced usability for Office 365, Student Onboarding and better integration with legacy single sign on systems.
User impact: Single Sign On will be intermittently available during the upgrade. ​
