OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. July 28 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07/28/2016 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Single Sign On Upgrade
When: 3:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services: All login systems that utilize SSO.fau.edu including Blackboard, Workday, Office 365, Outlook 365, Owl Apps (Google Applications), and many others. ​
Affected systems: shibboleth1, shibboleth2, cas1, cas2, BigIP
Description of maintenance: The University Single Sign On infrastructure will be upgraded to the latest version and introduce a new login page.
User impact: Single Sign On will be intermittently available during the upgrade. ​

Enable OIM Attended Attribute
When: 5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: ​OIM, OUD
Affected systems: boc22oimp01.fau.edu, boc22oimp02.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: This feature ensures account policies continue to exist for student accounts accessing gmail services when they are no longer enrolled in courses.
User impact: None, this feature is being turned on in preparation of migrating away from Waveset.

When: 3:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services: ​Blackboard Production
Affected systems: bbloracle
Description of maintenance: Applying Oracle PSU to DB’s on host bbloracle.
User impact: Blackboard will become temporarily unavailable during the maintenance window.​

When: 3:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services: ​Banner and ODS production along with services that are tied to the these systems such as jobsub, appworx, dars, and cleanaddress
Affected systems: bannerprd, odsprod, sctcache1-7, sctforms-2​
Description of maintenance: Applying Oracle PSU to DB’s on hosts bannerprd and odsprod.
User impact: Users will be unable to login to Banner or ODS during the period the database is offline. This should be no longer than 1 hour.

Affected services: Oracle Identity Manager production​

Description of maintenance: ​​Applying Oracle PSU to DB’s on host boc22ora07
User impact: The OIM system will be unavailable for a short period. During this time, account changes will not be processed and the self-service interface will be unavailable.​

Description of maintenance: The Financial Aid office has requested that the following packages associated with the Financial Aid 8.26.1 upgrade/patches be installed in production this Thursday morning during the maintenance cycle.
User impact: No user impact is anticipated

User impact: Users should see a green bar naming FAU in the browsers address bar when users SSO.

Description of maintenance: The College of Medicine is mandating that email sent from @health.fau.edu addresses have a disclaimer appended to the message​
User impact: After the change emails sent from @health.fau.edu will contain an appended disclaimer​

User impact: MyFAU and Luminis will be come unavailable during the maintenance window.

Affected services: IEA Data Warehouse, Resource 25
Affected systems: boc22ora05
Description of maintenance: OIT will apply Oracle PSU to DB’s on host boc22ora05.
User impact: The IEA Datawarehouse will not be available during this time. The Resource 25 application will experiance interruptions in service as well.

Update requirements for the Data loss prevention (DLP) rules for Office 365 users

When: 6:00AM – 6:10AM
Affected services: Office 365 email
Affected systems: Office365
Description of maintenance: OIT will be changing the Data loss prevention (DLP) policies for all Office 365 users to restrict sending of drivers license and credit card numbers in addition to SSN and DEA Number of occurances of 5 or more​
User impact: SSN, DEA Number, credit card and driver’s license pattern matching will warn the user but allow the mail to be sent if it contains 1-4 occurences and block, but allow the user to override if it contains 5 or more occurences

Emergency Authentication System Maintenance, Tuesday, July 19 from 11:00PM to 1:00AM

The single sign-on system will be partially unavailable from 11:00 pm Tuesday July 19th, 2016 to 1:00 am Wednesday July 20th, 2016. While the maintenance is in progress users may intermittently experience difficulty logging into services such as Blackboard, Self Service, Office 365, Owlapps, and Workday.

[RESOLVED] – Issues with Office365 applications (Email, Skype for Business, SharePoint)

We are currently experiencing some connectivity issues with Office365 applications, such as email, Skype for Business, and SharePoint. We are investigating the issue and have contacted Microsoft for assistance in order to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Description of maintenance: OIT will upgrade the Malwarebytes server from version 1.5 to version 1.7.
User impact: Clients will be unable to talk to the server for approximately a half hour while the upgrade is running

FAU Experiencing Degraded Internet Performance

FAU is currently experiencing an outage of its primary connection to the internet. While all traffic has switched over to a backup connection and all services are available, users will experience decreased speeds to the internet until the issue is resolved. Our service provider is aware of the issue and working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

[COMPLETED] TouchNet Payment processing system unavailable 5/18/16 due to maintenance

TouchNet systems has completed their maintenance. All systems are back online and ready for regular use.

The TouchNet payment processing system will be undergoing maintenance; from 3:00(am) to 7:00(am) –EST, on Wednesday 5/18/16.

This will affect student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services.

We expect all systems to be back online no later than 7:00(am) that morning. A follow up notification will be sent out when the system is back online.

The subject line of this message is Emergency Email! and the message states: “To Avoid Closure Of Your Email, Click Or Copy This Link:[google drive link]” –  Please DO NOT click this message as it is not sent from OIT or FAU and by clicking the link your account will become compromised.

Google has suspended any user who has clicked the link.  To enable your account, you must reset your Owlapps password. We recommend that you reset both your Owlapps and FAUNet ID passwords to avoid any future issues.

Description of maintenance:  ​Install the Financial Aid 8.26.0.1 patch in production. This release resolves a problem that came up during the testing of the Financial Aid 8.26.0 upgrade. That upgrade was placed on hold pending the release of this patch. The upgrade and patch are required for completion of College of Medicine financial aid awards.
User impact: None expected
