IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deem necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 08/25/2011 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 5:00 AM – 6:30 AM
Affected Service: All blogs on http://wordpress.fau.edu will be affected (IRM Status and Office of International Programs).
Affected Systems: wordpress.fau.edu
Description of Maintenance: We will be upgrading PHP to version 5.2.4 on the WordPress (http://wordpress.fau.edu) box. The upgraded version of PHP is required for newer releases of the WordPress blog.

When: 5:00 AM – 6:30 AM
Affected Service: Xitracs, SharePoint, OwlApp, Blackboard
Affected Systems: hvboc05, xitracs, spwfe1, owlapp1, bbx2, bbpproxy2
Description of Maintenance: We will be making a BIOS change on hvboc05 which requires a reboot of the system

We have identified an issue with Blackboard. We will be experiencing a brief outage at 3:30 pm and services will be restored no later than 3:40 pm. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Broward Computing Services (BCS) in conjunction with Network Security will perform the following upgrade(s) on Thursday, August 18, 2011, during the maintenance window:

* Description: Move DHCP (IP assignments) to new registration system for Fort Lauderdale faculty & staff.

* System(s) Affected: FACULTY & STAFF may receive a registration Web page when a client connects to the Internet.

* Downtime: No downtime anticipated.

Completed Network: Building Emergency Power Shutdown for Project : P-5798 at BLDG 69

Turner Construction is planning a shutdown in Bldg 69 for emergency power only. They are doing this to tie in the new feeder to the 75KV emergency transformer in the electrical room at Bldg 69. DURATION OF SHUTDOWM : No longer than 4-6 hours IMPACTING : all emergency power in Bldg 69 will be affected WHEN: TUESDAY, AUGUST 16th Beginning at: 8:00 PM through Midnight

Only a brief network disruption is expected in building 69 to move network equipment off emergency circuits prior to the electric cutover.

Network: Network outage on the private network at the Harbor Branch and Davie campuses.

We are currently investigating to determine the root cause of the outage.

Description of Maintenance: We will be connecting Identity Manager to a Banner view that returns the students first admissions term. No down time is required for this change.

Description of Maintenance: To assist with monitoring the delivery of applications we will be adding functionality to report the number of applications that are automatically retrieved from Royall.

* Description: Move DHCP (IP assignments) to new registration system for Davie Labs and e-classrooms

* System(s) Affected: Lab and e-classrooms may receive a registration Web page when a client connects to the Internet.

* Downtime: No downtime anticipated.

Identity Manager password synchronization has now fully resumed and is working as intended.
