Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 04/20/2023 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Zoom – New Meeting Join Flow
Description of change: Zoom has created a new meeting join experience and will be enforcing it on all accounts this month. The new join flow will help to improve the user experience of joining a meeting. End-user impact: Users will experience a new join flow. Change is mostly cosmetic and eliminates some redundant steps when joining a meeting.


Server Upgrade
Description of change: OIT is performing a Windows OS upgrade on our Remote Desktop Licensing Server

Downtime window end: 04/20/2023 6:00 AM
Affected services: This change will have an impact on any services using the server for remote desktop services, terminal services or VDI.
End-user impact: Faculty and Staff using any of the services that using the server for remote desktop services, termincal services, or VID.


Endpoint Software Change
Description of change: OIT will be making a configuration change to Office 365 apps software on endpoints.
Downtime window start: 04/20/2023 8:00 AM
Downtime window end: 04/20/2023 8:30 AM
Affected services: Office 365 app installations on Intune managed computers.
End-user impact: Office 365 apps may be forcibly closed going forward to install updates if they have reached the update deadline (7 days).


Identity Management Pain Point fixes
Description of change: The accounts management team has identified two pain points that cause the Help Desk to receive call tickets. These adjustments will automatically correct issues with the Outlook Global Address list and users mistakenly being provided Outlook 365 mailboxes.

End-user impact: 365 mailboxes will be correctly de-provisioned from users who are no longer STUDENT, EMPLOYEE, CONTINGENT with access, or COURTESY.

Description of change: As part of Civics Literacy compliance, OIT will be adding two new values to the EDI transcripts, Civic Literacy Assessment and Civic Literacy Course completion.

Single-Sign On Prompting Engine Upgrade
Description of change: OIT will be upgrading the Single Sign On Prompting Engine to improve reliability, performance, and usability.

Affected services: Single Sign On and any applications using SSO.
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected during the change. The SSO page will have a new look after the change.


REDCap Update
Description of change: This is a routine REDCap update. Will be offline during update.

Affected services: REDCap
End-user impact: Service will be offline during update.


Desktop Updates for Admissions Office Computer Systems
Description of change: OIT will be making adjustments to Admissions desktops and laptops on February 23rd 2023. OIT will work with Admissions to communicate the changes and what can be expected.

Downtime window end: 02/23/2023 1:05 PM
Affected services: Undergraduate Admission user desktops and laptops
End-user impact: This change only impacts Undergraduate Admissions staff. After the change, Undergraduate Admissions staff will be prompted to authenticate with DUO when logging in to their desktops and laptops.

[RESOLVED] MYFAU internal pages not loading

The MYFAU issue has been resolved and all pages should be loading correctly.

HEALTH VMWare Outage – Returned to normal at 6:00 AM

Research Computing is working with VMware to address a issue with https://vhealth.fau.edu .

Some users connecting to this environment will not be able to get connected. Once this is fixed this message will be updated.
