OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. February 25 from 3:00am to 7:00am

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 02/25/2016 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Update and restart of Linux servers
When: 3:00AM to 6:00AM
Affected services: Password sync, account creation and claiming
Affected systems: boc22ora07 (OIMP), boc22ora03 (MSOP, IDMP), boc22oimp1, boc22oimp2, boc22oimwebp1, boc22oimwebp2
Description of maintenance: Due to a critical patch that needs to be installed on all Linux systems, we will need to restart the production OIM and IDM database and application servers
User impact: Passwords will not synchronize during this time so we recommend not changing your password until after the maintenance window is done.

Update and restart of MyFAU
When: 3:00AM to 6:00AM
Affected services: MyFAU
Affected systems: MyFAU
Description of maintenance: OIT will restart the database servers for MyFAU due to new patches being installed.
User impact: Users will not be able to access MyFAU during this time.

Update and restart of Linux servers
When: 3:00AM to 6:00AM
Affected services: Banner: Selfservice and INB
Affected systems: bannerprd, sctcache[1-8], sctforms[1-2]
Description of maintenance: Due to a critical patch that needs to be installed on all Linux systems, we will need to restart the production banner database and application servers
User impact: No access to banner

[Resolved] Temporary disruption of DNS services

OIT will be restarting all DNS systems at 12:00PM. The system restarts will be staggered to minimize impact to computers on the FAU network. Please note you may experience slowed response times when contacting other systems over the network or internet as a result of DNS request time-outs. We expect all DNS systems to return fully to service by 12:30PM.

Description of maintenance: OIT will be upgrading the SSH software on OIT’s secure file server​

Affected services: Sun Directory Servers at all campuses. Password Syncronization of Netid.
Single Sign may go offline during the update process so logins to Blackboard, Workday and other services may be delayed.

Description of maintenance: We will be applying new signed wildcard certificates to the ldap servers​

Affected services: All remote SQL connections to Banner test and development instances.​

Description of maintenance: Force secure TNS connections for all Banner test/development instances.​
User impact: Users may not be able to make remote SQL connections to databases on banoradev.fau.edu.​

Description of maintenance: OIT will be migrating several systems that support user authentication and network services on the Jupiter and HBOI campuses to new hardware
User impact: ​DHCP, netreg, and Papercut printing services will be down on the Jupiter and HBOI campuses while the migration occurs.
