The Office of Information Technology is continuing the process of upgrading existing University antivirus software, in buildings (11, 31, and 38), from Symantec Endpoint Protection to Microsoft System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection. This will be done tonight around 11:00PM as part of our regular patch and maintenance cycle. After the software is installed, it may be necessary to restart the machine up to two times to finish the installation.
System Center Endpoint Protection is known for its industry-leading malware detection, guarding against the latest malware and rootkits. This process is seamless to the users and we do not anticipate any downtime.
Should any issues arise please let us know by opening up a ticket at www.fau.edu/helpdesk.
