The FAU network is back and operational. We lost our primary connection to FLR at 11:27am. The connection stabilized at 11:41. There was a loss of light on the 10G circuit between Boca and Ft. Lauderdale. We are working with ATT to determine the cause of the outage.

Networking will be upgrading the network equipment in building 72 (Satellite Utility Plant) and building 81 (Parking Garage I) during the maintenance window 5:00am to 7:00am Thursday 03/01/2012. No service outage during normal business hours is expected.
We experienced systems failure this morning starting at 4:00am. On-campus access to the Internet was affected as well as many other services. At this time Internet access has been restored.

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 03/01/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
What: Netapp OS upgrade
When: 3:30am-6:30am
Potentially affected systems: Blackboard, HyperV clusters (Xitrax, VPN auth, DNS, VirtualApps, Broadcast, DHCP, Graduate Application, Identity Manager, PhoneBill, Network Registration, Lists, SharePoint, Talisma, Xitracs)
Description of Maintenance: The OnTap OS is being upgraded from 8.0.2 to 8.0.2P4. A firmware update to fix battery charging is also being applied.
User impact: None is expected because of the failover capabilities of the storage controllers
What: Server reboots
When: 3am-4am
Affected systems: bbloraclealt, fausftp, fausftp2, echoftp, banoradev (new/Linux), bannerprd (new/Linux)
Description of Maintenance: The servers are rebooting for kernel updates.
User impact: None
The crash was due to a memory parity error. We will continue to closely monitor the system.
