OIT Systems Maintenance – Thurs. May 22, 2014 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05/22/2014 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Affected systems: CAS
Description of maintenance: FAU’s web base authentication system will be upgraded to provide additional security features such as Two Factor Authentication, improved user session termination and improved reliability. In addition all expired user passwords will be extended between 30 to 180 days. This will allow users time to respond to the password expiration warnings before they are force to change their password.
User impact: Users may need to refresh their browsers and possibly clear their browser cache. Users will see a new user interface with improved navigation. Users with expired passwords will have their password expiration extended between 30 and 180 days.

When: 3:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: Travel, ERLR, Workflow
Affected systems: Banner
Description of maintenance: OIT will be converting the Travel, ERLR and Workflow Banner services to work over SSL.
User impact: Users may be unable to connect to Travel, ERLR or Workflow during this time. All requests made to these services after the maintenance will be forced to connect over https.

Affected services: MyFAU
Affected systems: MyFAU
Description of maintenance: MyFAU will be offline in order to peform some general maintenance.
User impact: End users will not be able to access MyFAU during this time.

Affected services: SCCM
Affected systems:  SCCM
Description of maintenance: OIT is applying an update to the client management system (SCCM) in an attempt to resolve some issues on specific servers.
User impact: The SCCM console and SCCM OS deployments will be unavailable during the window.

Affected services: Self-Service
Affected systems: Self-Service
Description of maintenance: Minor changes to FAU self-service needs to be deployed in Production.  These changes only affect the look of self-service mainly the size of the submit buttons.
User impact: No user impact is expected.
