Momentary Network Connectivity Issues

There were momentary network issues today around 11:30 while the network routed around an equipment failure. All devices appear stable at this time and we will continue to monitor for additional issues.

Upgrade Banner INB/Forms Servers – April 26 from 4:00AM to 5:00AM

Please be advised that OIT will be installing an update to Banner forms tomorrow morning between 4:00am and-5:00am. This update will resolve an issue with accessing Banner that is related to the new version of Java.

Banner will be unavailable during this time and once the update has been installed you may need to clear the Java cache on your computer(s). Below are instructions for Windows and Mac operating systems.

 To clear your Java cache in Windows:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Locate and double click the Java icon in the Control Panel.
  3. Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files.
  4. Click Delete Files.
  5. Select all boxes and click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
  6. Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.
  7. Click OK to close the Java Control Panel.

 To clear your Java cache in Mac OS X:

  1. Double click your Mac hard drive.
  2. Double click Applications.
  3. Double click Utilities.
  4. Double click Java Preferences.
  5. Click the Network tab.
  6. Click the Delete Files… button.
  7. You are prompted to delete your temporary files for Java. Make sure all boxes are selected with check marks. Click OK.
  8. Close the Java Preferences window.

[RESOLVED] Intermittent blackboard login error

[resolved] eGrades Submission Currently Unavailable

UPDATE: The issue has been resolved.

Instructors trying to submit their final grades using Blackboard Banner Grade Submission and Canvas Grade Submission will get an error when trying to submit their grades.

Instructors SHOULD NOT submit their grades through the Learning Management System at this time.

OIT is actively working to resolve the issue.

[resolved] Automatic network drive mappings to shares on fauandi1 are intermittent

UPDATE: fauandi1 automatic drive mapping should now be working for most users following a logoff/logon. Some users may still be affected and we are working with the colleges to resolve.

The OIT-IPSEC-ENABLE GPO was unlinked from the top level OU last night as part of the andisec maintenance. This GPO specified the ‘Configure user Group Policy loopback processing mode’ as ‘Merge’ and it overrode any other GPO with that setting configured. We’re now seeing other colleges and departments with GPOs that specify that setting with ‘Replace’ which breaks the processing of the fauandi drive mapping GPO. We’re advising those colleges and departments to update their GPOs to ‘Merge’ to resolve the issue

 

We are receiving reports of some users not getting their fauandi1 shares mapped automatically. We are currently investigating the issue. As a workaround the shares can still be accessed by manually entering the share path in Windows Explorer.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. April 13 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 4/13/2017 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Migration of servers ds0p/ds1p from old BigIP to the new BigIP
When:  5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services:  We expect that there might be ldap disruptions for 1 minute during the move.
Affected systems:  This will likely affect any systems using ds0p and ds1p for ldap lookups.
Description of maintenance: We are continuing the move of servers from the older BigIP load balancer hardware to the new ones.  This move will be for the backend servers that support ldap and changing the IP for ds0p and ds1p.
User impact:  Some services that use ldap may not function during the downtime (1-5 minutes)​

Upgrade to the deployment and Windows client management server (SCCM)
When:  5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services:  All OS/application/windows update deplyoments from boc22sccm​​
Affected systems:  boc22sccm​
Description of maintenance: OIT will be upgrading the System Center Configuration Manager server (boc22sccm) to version 1702​. SCCM clients may update to version 1702 over the next week.​​
User impact:  All OS/application/windows update deplyoments from boc22sccm will be unavailable during the upgrade​​

Ironport Upgrade to v10.0.1
When:  4:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services:  Various email exchanges that cross the ironports, mostly incoming from the outside, but also emails that cross from gmail to office 365, vice versa, list email and possibly others. Internal Office365 to Office365 and internal Gmail to Gmail would not be affected.
Affected systems:   bertx, berty, ironportnw2​
Description of maintenance:  We are upgrading the incoming email spam protection servers to a newer version to fix bugs and gain new features
User impact: None​ significantly as each server will be done separately while the other two servers will pick up the email communication.
