OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Aug 1 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 08/01/2019 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Radius Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be performing security updates of the radius servers that support wireless and Eduroam authentication. There may be temporary interruption as the systems are updated.​
Downtime window start: 10:00 PM
Downtime window end: 12:00 AM
Affected services: On-site wireless, Eduroam
Expected End-user impact: During this time, users may lose WiFi connectivity on campus during the update. Users using Eduroam may have failed authentications while trying to use other institutions’ WiFi.

Florida Shines Authentication
Description of change: The authentication for Florida Shines Transcripts, Transient, and similar authentications will be updated.This update will increase the reliability of the system and improve the performance when users access the Florida Shines Services.

Affected services: Florida Shines
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected. Should errors occur, end users will see an authentication error on the Florida Shines page. OIT can contact the Florida Shines team and alert them of the error. If errors occur Florida Shines (FLVC) will revert the change.

AppStatus Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be updating the wording on the Appstatus login screen and decision display will be changed.

Medical Insurance Integration Setup
Description of change: This is the creation of a new Appworx process to load a file containing student charges for Medical Insurance to the student’s accounts.

Description of change: OIT will start loading unofficial test scores from SSAR into Banner

EDI Tables cleanup (1st iteration)
Description of change: OIT will be cleaning up error notification records in Banner to improved EDI processes.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 4:00 AM
Affected services: Three BANNER EDI tables. EDI jobs will not be running at that hour of the morning so the scripts will not interfere with job performance. Removing records from these records will not affect any other tables or processes.
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected.

Starfish Integration Fix
Description of change: This change is to fix an issue where a certain population of students are excluded during the break in semesters

Common App and Residency Solution
Description of change: Banner, the Undergraduate App, The Graduate App, Onbase, and Owldone will all be updated to deliver Common App applications to Banner, new residency related questions to the applications, a new tentative residency setting algorithm, a new residency module to Owldone, and anew residency submission and verification support in Onbase.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: Undergraduate app, Grad App, Owldone, Banner app load packages, OnBase forms
Expected End-user impact: Applicants will have fewer questions on the applications and a secure online form for submitting related documents. Staff for Grad Admissions, Undergraduate Admissions and Registrar’s residency officers will have new tools.
