OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Dec 19 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 12/19/2019 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be deploying an authentication server in Azure.​
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Active Directory
Affected systems (Internal Only)
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected.

Banner 8X/XE Financial Aid patch and administrative pages
Description of change: OIT will apply a required Financial Aid patch and one administrative pages release to be in compliance with Winter registrations
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 4:00 AM
Affected services: BANNER 8X/XE
Expected End-user impact: During this time, Banner will be offline while the patch is being installed.

Description of change: OIT will update the JDBC library on all Banner Tomcat web servers.​
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: ​Banner 9 Registration self-service, Touchnet PCI services, Banner Admin Pages, Banner Application Navigator, Banner Access Manager
Expected End-user impact: During this time, services listed above will be unavailable.

Server Maintenance
Description of change: ​OIT will be performing server maintenance on the Splunk log server. This maintenance will not affect any end-user services.
Downtime window start: 12:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: Splunk Log server
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected. This will only affect OIT users using Splunk for log management and the Police Department using this system for log management. Affected groups will be notified.

Harvest, ODS, FAUDW Warehouse, OwlDone​, FinancialAid Attendance Survey, IEAP Warehouse, WebFOCUS/ReportCaster, OIM, Account claiming, Password resets, MSOP Instance, ACH or VPAS, Mandatory Course Entry Quiz, accounts.fau.edu – Accounts Self Service, Canvas Electronic Grading “Banner Grade Submissions” in Canvas, Wireless network authentication for guests, 4P Configuration, Admissions Status, Znumber page, ssoauth.fau.edu/*, egrades.fau.edu/* (except egrades itself), grouper.fau.edu, Phonebill application pre latest system, Password expiration, network registration, talon.fau.edu/netreg, talon.fau.edu/networkregistrationadmin, Frevvo, Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Residency Project, OwlDone
Expected End-user impact: During this time, the listed services will be temporarily offline while the patches are applied. Some applications may need to be restarted after the maintenance is complete.

Service Upgrade
Description of change: OIT will be migrating an on-premises encryption service to a cloud based solution.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: AD RMS, Azure RMS
Expected End-user impact: During this time, there is no impact for those using Office 365 (click 2 run). For those using Office 2016/2013, they will either need to upgrade to Office 365 pro plus or run a migration script to continue using RMS to protect documents.
