Single Sign On System Maintenance

The University Single Sign On System will briefly undergo maintenance from 6:00 am to 7:00 am Thursday, August 20. During this period users may be unable to login to Canvas, Workday, Banner Self Service, OwlDone, Google Applications, Office 365, Ezproxy, and other Single Sign On supported services.

If you continue to experience difficulty accessing any services past 7:00 am, please contact the Help Desk at your earliest convenience.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Aug 13 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 0/13/2020 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Single Sign On update
Description of change: The University single sign on system will be updated to apply a permanent fix for script popup errors experienced for local installs of Hyland and Webex. Updates will also be applied for a future integration of Okta for the Board of Governors and a fix for an error in OmniUpdate. Users may experience a short period where they cannot login during this maintenance.
Downtime window start: 8/13/2020 6:00 AM
Downtime window end: 8/13/2020 7:00 AM
Affected services: All services that use single sign on.
Expected End-user impact: During this time, single sign on will go offline for 1-5 minutes while the system restarts. Users may experience a short period where they cannot login during this maintenance.

[RESOLVED] TouchNet Systems Maintenance, Friday, August 7th from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

The TouchNet payment processing system will be undergoing maintenance -Starting from 3:00am to 7:00am (EST) Friday, August 7th. This affects student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services. We expect all systems to be back online no later than 7:00 am (EST) that morning. When the system is back up and ready to go, we will notify you. You may wish to place warnings on your website, or take your store offline. If this scheduled downtime creates a conflict for your operations, please feel free to contact us at FIS@fau.edu for further discussion. Expected End-user impact: During this time all student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services will be unavailable during this maintenance cycle.

Automation of Parchment Transcripts Import into OnBase

This automation will allow the system to routinely pick up Undergraduate Parchment transcripts and import them into OnBase. Once the transcript is in OnBase, it will undergo a matching process and update the respective checklist item in the SAAADMS, BANNER applicant record.

Description of change: OIT will be moving a virtual server to new hardware.
Downtime window start: 8/6/2020 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 8/6/2020 6:00 AM
Affected services: Jira and Confluence (jira.fau.edu and kb.fau.edu)
Expected End-user impact: During this time, services listed will be unavailable. Users may also lose their work if it was entered after the clone was created.

Restrict SharePoint/OneDrive shareable links expiration
Description of change: OIT will be restricting SharePoint/OneDrive shareable links to a 30 day validity ​

Affected services: SharePoint, Onedrive​
Expected End-user impact: During this time, there is no end-user impact. After the change, users will only be allowed to make a shareable link for OneDrive/SharePoint with a validity of up to 30 days

Description of change: OIT will be enabling Bitlocker on OIT managed clients​
