OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. July 30 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07/30/2015 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Affected services: accounts.fau.edu (Oracle Identity Manager (OIM)​)
Affected systems: ​boc22ora07, boc22oimp1, boc22oimp2
Description of maintenance: Moving storage for OIM production database (OIMP) to another aggregate in NetApp SAN.​
User impact: ​Users will not be able to reset their passwords or claim accounts during this time.

Description of maintenance: OIT will upgrade the authentication server for the VIP Document Management System to comply with security requirements.
User impact: Momentary interruption of use of the vip document management system

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07/23/2014 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. Affected services: Blackboard
Affected systems: ​Blackboard
Description of maintenance: OIT will be updating the LiveText Building Block for Blackboard to fix an issue preventing instructors from linking their Blackboard courses with LiveText​
User impact: We do not expect any downtime unless we need to restart, though a restart should not be necessary.  If a restart is necessary the servers can be restarted individually so Blackboard would still not be down.

Undergraduate Admissions Application Upgraded

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has request several changes be applied to the undergraduate admissions application at apply.fau.edu.

The admissions application will be offline from 9:00 pm Friday July 17, 2015 – midnight Friday July 17, 2015 during these upgrades.

LuminisSync Single MessageQueue
When: 5:45AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: OUD, LuminisSync, Luminis, Waveset, Active Directory, Oracle Identity Manager, Chessboard, CAS services.
Affected systems: ​boc22oudp01, boc22oudp02, mcsource.fau.edu​
Description of maintenance: All OUD to LuminisSync events will now go to oud.action queue instead of being split between oud.action and oud.highpriority ActiveMQ queues.
User impact: None​, some accounts were not being created in Luminis. This should correct that problem.

Marketplace Store Errors

Attn: Marketplace Store Managers

 

As of this morning, it has been noted that all marketplace stores are failing to function properly. The store sites are not allowing customers to choose products or to checkout for purchase.

 

We are contacting TouchNet customer care immediately and handling with the highest priority. A patch to the system was installed on Friday evening by TouchNet corporation, and it is likely that this morning’s issues are related.

 

Please note that this only affects Marketplace Stores. Student payment systems are working as expected.

 

Updates will be sent as more information becomes available.

Single-Sign On Usability Improvement

Affected services: Blackboard, Workday, Outlook web access, OwlApps (Google Applications and Gmail), Library Services. College of Business Media Streaming​, all signle sign on services.
Affected systems: cas1.fau.edu, cas2.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: The single sign on system will be updated to notify users that they cannot bookmark or leave the browse sitting on the single signon pages. ​
User impact: Single Sign On will be offline for 10 – 15 minutes during the upgrade. This downtime will prevent users for accessing the above services. ​
