OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Sept 11 from 3:00AM – 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 09/11/2014 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 3:00AM – 5:00AM
Affected services: The listed Blackboard tools will may be unavailable durning the update, and may continue to be unavailable until after Blackboard is restarted
Affected systems: Blackboard​
Description of maintenance: OIT will be updating as many of the following Building Blocks as possible during the downtime window: Software Updates, Cloud Profiles, Social Profiles, Partner Cloud, Content System, SafeAssign, Collaborate, Cengage Mindlinks, Wiley Plus, McGraw Hil, Textbook, Bookshelf, xpLor​
User impact: Users may be unable to access the tools listed. Other areas should continue to function

Affected services: Banner Forms
Affected systems: Banner INB (FAUP)​
Description of maintenance: Per Ellucian Case #1180758, install Oracle patch 18331282 on forms servers to resolve the bug with radio buttoms causing the form to hang.
User impact: Anyone on Production Banner INB would be kicked out of system.

Affected services: ​Appworx production web interface
Affected systems: ​enzo.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: Upgrade Apache to version 2.4.10
User impact: Only the web interface will be down. The Appworx agents will remain up and running.

Affected services: None expected​
Affected systems: bigip1 and bigip2​
Description of maintenance: OIT are adding a new virtual network to the BigIP load balancers​
User impact: None expected

[resolved] Emergency network outage and repair Tuesday 9/9/2014 starting at 11:00 pm

The emergency network repair has been completed.  No additional network outages are anticipated due to this issue.

[resolved] Blackboard unavailable

All Blackboard systems are back online and available for use.  We thank you for being patient while we resolved this matter.

[update.1] Blackboard unavailable

OIT has traced the problem related to tonight’s Blackboard problem to the database which supports the Blackboard environment.  As a result, it degraded the performance and caused the application to become unavailable.  Full service is expected to be restored by 9:30pm.

Network Maintenance – Sunday, September 7th from 2:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.

OIT will be performing network maintenance from 2:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014.  Due to the nature of the maintenance, FAU may experience intermittent network outages lasting approximately 10 – 15 minutes during this maintenance window.  This outage will affect connectivity to the Internet as well as connectivity within FAU.

In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Affected services: Crystal Reports
Affected systems: crystalreports.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: OIT is migrating the system hosting crystal reports which creates various reports that are utilized by all the colleges and a few departments.
User impact: All reports on crystalreports.fau.edu will be unavailable for approximately 2 hours during the window.

Description of maintenance: OIT is ​installing a Financial Aid patch 8.20.1.2 in Banner Prodution

[RESOLVED] – Password Reset Synchronization Issue

Password synchronization issue has been resolved. If you reset your password within the last 24 hours and it is not working on all FAU systems, please log in to MyFAU and change the password again.
