An error in our password policy caused some premature password expirations. This has now been resolved.

We have received reports of slowness when accessing our online ticketing system (Parature). Our vendor is currently investigating to determine the cause and hope to have the issue resolved as soon as possible.

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 09/13/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Description of maintenance: This change is to make configuration changes to blackboard as well as to apply maintenance patches suggested by blackboard to fix an outstanding issue with session time outs.
User impact: Blackboard will be inaccessible during this time window.

Description of maintenance: OIT will be making the final changes to the FAU Password complexity requirements. This will impact the initial default FAU password for users. The new default for accounts (FAUNet ID) created after the change will be the 3 letters of “fau” in lowercase followed by the user’s birthday in MMDDYY format (fauMMDDYY). For example if your birth date is September 3rd, 1997, your initial password would be fau090397.
In addition FAU will require all newly set passwords to meet the following requirements.
User impact: All newly created accounts will be created with a new password. Users who change their passwords must follow the new password complexity requirements. Between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM user account creating and password changes will be delayed.
Oracle security patch updates will be applied to bannerprd tomorrow morning, Thursday 9/13/2012 from 5:30am to 6:00am. Banner FAUP will be unavailable during this time.
The network maintenance scheduled for Tuesday September 11 from 5:00a.m. to 6:30a.m. has been completed.
Communication Infrastructure will be performing emergency network maintenance tomorrow morning from 5:00a.m.-6:30a.m. During this time, network connectivity within the university and to the internet may be interrupted intermittently. The purpose of this maintenance is to install a patch provided by our vendor that they believe will resolve the network and internet reliability issues encountered the past week.
