New Account Information Emails

We are receiving many reports of users receiving emails with the subject “Account Information” and with a from address of “donotreply@oracle.com”.  These emails are being generated inadvertently by a system on the FAU campus and should be disregarded. These are not phishing scams and your information is not at risk. We are working to stop the transmission of these emails.

An example of one of the emails is below:

Network outage in buildings T-10 and T-11 on Boca Raton campus

The vendor has approved the version we upgraded to on their end and the service is back up and running.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. April 30 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 04/30/2015 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Phone Billing system upgrade (Verasmart)
When: 12:00AM – 3:00AM
Affected services: Phone billing​
Affected systems:  boc22comm1​
Description of maintenance: Upgrading phone billing software (Verasmart) from version ​10.5.1_sp4 (build 189.13.4) to version 10.6_sp5
User impact: During upgrade users will not be able to view their billing information​

Change email routing for @hboi.fau.edu
When: 6:00AM – 6:15AM
Affected services: Email send to users @hboi.fau.edu
Affected systems: ns1
Description of maintenance: HBOI will be transfering authority of their @hboi.fau.edu domain for email purposes to the FAU email system.
User impact: Email sent to users @hboi.fau.edu will go to those user’s FAU Exchange accounts

Move the DPM and Crash Plan servers to the new backup rack
When:  4:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: Microsoft ​Data Protection Manager and Crash Plan user backups
Affected systems: boc22dpmus and boc22cp
Description of maintenance: The Servers and storage will be moved between racks in the datacenter
User impact: Backups will be unavailable during the move

Migrate file server used by Tech Runway
When:  3:00AM – 4:00AM
Affected services: The \\busace01\fss fileshare
Affected systems:  busace01​ & bocana02
Description of maintenance: OIT will be migrating the file share used by Tech Runway​
User impact: The FSS fileshare will be unavailable during the migration. The share path will be changed to \\fauandi1.fau.edu\fss

Jupiter Campus network outage at 1:44

We experienced a network outage on the Jupiter campus due to a power outage in building MC-04 at 1:44 pm.  The power and the network have been restored.
