OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. June 14 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 06/14/2018 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Banner Grade Submission Upgrade for Canvas
Description of change: Upgrade Banner Grade Submission (eGrades) with improved support for grading only via eGrades. ​
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Canvas, Banner Grade Submission (eGrades)
Affected systems: Payara Cluster
Expected End-user impact: During this time, eGrades will be offline and users grading during the maintenance window will experience unexpected behavior.

Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) Single Sign On Upgrade
Description of change: Switch Florida Virtual School from Znumber and PIN authentication to FAUNetID and password via Single Sign On.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Florida Virtual School, Banner Authentication via the jServer
Affected systems: egrades, banner
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected. After the change, end users will be asked to use their FAUNet and password instead of their Znumber and pin when authenticating to FLVC services such as transcripts, transfer, etc. Alumni can reactivate their accounts by going to accounts.fau.edu

Single Sign On Fiscal Statement of Responsibility Prompt
Description of change: OIT will enable Single Sign On Fiscal Statement of Responsibility Prompt​.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 5:00 AM
Affected services: Single Sign On, 4P, Banner, frevvo-api
Affected systems: shibboleth servers
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected. After the change, users who have a Fiscal Statement of Responsibility hold will be required to complete the Fiscal Statement of Responsibility form or eventually they will not be able to login to any Single Sign On services.

Accounts Self Service Updates
Description of change: OIT will be applying the latest security patches to software​

Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Accounts Self Service
Affected systems: OIM web servers
Expected End-user impact: During this time, the FAU Account Self-Service portal will be unavailable.

Patch Tomcat Middleware
Description of change: Applying latest patches for Apache Tomcat servers.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services:  ​Account Self Service, ACH Payments, FAU Directory, FAU Wireless
Affected systems: Apache tomcat servers
Expected End-user impact: During this time, users may loose access to websites running services.

Server patching
Description of change: We will be installing the newest patches to the OUD servers boc22oudp01/02
Downtime window start: 4:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: There is a small chance that there may be some interruption to services using OUD while we install the patch.  We will be applying the patch one server at a time to minimize impact.  Any services directly connecting to oudp01/02 directly may experience interruption while the patches are installed.
Affected systems: OUD Servers
Expected End-user impact:  During this time there will be minimal end-user impact if any at all while the patches are applied.

Description of change: OIT will be adding a field in the Admissions call app to display if tuition deposit has been paid.

Affected systems: payara servers, egrade server
Expected End-user impact: During this time, the service will be offline.
