OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. 3/14 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 03/14/2019 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

SSO Upgrade
Description of change: OIT will be upgrading the ​prompting system in the Single Sign On System so users of slower services do not see the continue button if they do not have any tasks to complete.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 5:00 AM
Affected services: All Systems that uses SSO including Canvas, Workday, and others.
Affected systems: Shibboleth servers
Expected End-user impact: During this time, single sign on (SSO) may stop working for about 10 – 15 minutes while we redeploy the prompting service.

Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be upgrading the software on a directory connector server.
Downtime window start: 3/13/19 @ 10:00 PM
Downtime window end: 3/14/19 @ 6:00 AM
Affected services: Directory synchronization between FAU Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Office 365)
Affected systems: Azure Active Directory server
Expected End-user impact: During this time there is minimal to none end-user impact. New FAU accounts may take a bit longer to populate into Office 365 but synchronization should be back to normal by mid-morning.

Populate Work Telephone in AD
Description of change: OIT will be populating FAU worker telephone numbers into Active Directory in preparation for new phone system.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Active Directory, IDM
Affected systems: Active Directory, IDM
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected. After the upload, applications that use “telephoneNumber” attribute from Active Directory may begin to show it in contacts. If office phone number is incorrect please reach out to HR partners (department liaisons for updating Workday information). Workday Primary Work Phone Visibility flag will prevent phone numbers form showing in AD.
