[NETWORK MAINTENANCE] Northwest Regional Data Center (NWRDC) Wednesday a.m.

OIT will be performing network maintenance on core network equipment at NWRDC on Wednesday October 21st from 5:30 a.m. until 7:30.a.m. There will be several outages affecting access to FAU resources at NWRDC during the window, however core FAU services housed elsewhere will be unaffected.

[RESOLVED] TouchNet Systems Maintenance, Friday, October 23rd from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

[RESOLVED] The TouchNet payment processing system will be undergoing maintenance -Starting from 3:00am to 7:00am (EST) Friday, October 23th. This affects student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services. We expect all systems to be back online no later than 7:00 am (EST) that morning. When the system is back up and ready to go, we will notify you. You may wish to place warnings on your website, or take your store offline. If this scheduled downtime creates a conflict for your operations, please feel free to contact us at FIS@fau.edu for further discussion. Expected End-user impact: During this time all student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services will be unavailable during this maintenance cycle.

[Resolved]Remote Desktop issues

We have identified the issue and it has been resolved. Please reboot your laptop or home computer, connect to VPN, and then try to Remote Desktop to your computer again.

We are receiving multiple reports of users unable to remotely connect (Remote Desktop) to computers on campus. We are currently investigating and will update once we have more information.

Network maintenance on Wednesday November 11 at 5:30 am

OIT will be performing upgrades and enhancements to several FAU network segments between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11.  During the maintenance window, there will be a 25 minute disruption to the campus wired networks. Wireless and Voice network segments will not be affected.

[NETWORK MAINTENANCE] Possible momentary SSO disruptions early a.m. October 14th

OIT will be performing network maintenance tomorrow. While most production services will be unaffected, due to the nature of the maintenance Single sign-on (SSO) may have a couple of momentary disruptions between 5:45 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. in the morning. As SSO is used to login to FAU services, it is possible that a small number of authentication attempts will fail momentarily. If this occurs, access should succeed upon trying again.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Oct 15 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/15/2020 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Description of change: OIT will be adding data ​storage space to a backend processing server for the Success Network (starfish).​

Affected services: ​Success Network/Starfish Advising web site components
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user is expected. However, if downtime is necessary to correct problems, then students cannot make appointments with advisors and advisors cannot document their appointments.

Banner 8X/XE Financial Aid Regulatory upgrade/admin pages releases
Description of change: ​This upgrade release and administrative pages release are required for regulatory compliance.

Affected services: ​Banner Financial Aid will be unavailable during the maintenance window
Expected End-user impact: ​During the brief downtime, users may receive an error message when uding the administrative pages.

Mediasite maintenance, Sat Oct 10 1:00am-5:00am

Mediasite will be under maintenance and upgrade Saturday, October 10 1AM-5AM. Extended downtime is not expected, however, the site may be unavailable for brief periods during this time. Microsoft is currently experiencing disruptions with several Office 365 services. These services include: Outlook email, Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, and other Office 365 services. We do not currently have an ETA from the vendor for when the issue will be resolved at this time.
