Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 11/16/2023 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Data Center Storage Upgrade (Netapp Snapvault Cluster)
Description of change: OIT will perform software upgrades to the Netapp Snapvault Cluster
Downtime window start: 11/15/2023 10:00 AM
Downtime window end: 11/15/2023 5:00 PM
Affected services: Snapvault functionality for Netapp volumes
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected. This is a backend netapp cluster for backup purposes


Banner AppNav Maintenance
Description of change: The Banner AppNav that is used for the Banner Admin application will be upgraded, and the current server will be decommissioned.
Downtime window start: 11/16/2023 6:00 AM
Downtime window end: 11/16/2023 6:30 AM
Affected services: Banner admin might not be accessible while the switch happens, or current sessions might disconnect.
End-user impact: Staff will not be able to login to Banner Admin while the change takes place, current sessions might also be impacted.


Student Health Server Maintenance (Dental and EKG)
Description of change: Research Computing will be performing maintenance of the Servers used for the Dental department and the EKG machines. During this time the services will be offline and the devices ( x-ray and EKG machines) will not be able to connect to their services.
Downtime window start: 11/14/2023 8:00 PM
Downtime window end: 11/15/2023 4:00 AM
Affected services: Dental X-Rays and EKG for Student Health
End-user impact: The dental and EKG machines will be off line during this time. However, the clinic is closed so there is no end user impact unless something does not work correctly in the morning.


Zero Cost Textbook Feature Implementation
Description of change: In Banner, placing an attribute on course section to display an ICON for Zero Textbook Courses, so that the students can easily identify Zero Textbook category courses.
End-user impact: Students

[Resolved] MYFAU Mobile App Mail Issues

The issue has been resolved. If you continue to have problems, please try clearing your cache or restarting your phone to clear any lingering caching issues.

We have received reports of users having issues logging into Outlook mail from the MYFAU Mobile App. Some have had issues logging into the MYFAU Mobile App itself as well. We are investigating and will update when we have more information. In the meantime, users can access mail directly at: http://outlook.fau.edu/

Description of change: Clockwork and ClockworkWeb will be down for maintenance.

Student Health server maintenance (CAPS and OHCP)
Description of change: Student health server will have maintenance done. This is for the servers for CAPS

Affected services: titanium for OHCP and shs-caps-web for CAPS
End-user impact: During this time Titanium web and caps-web will be off-line


Banner package installation and maintenance
Description of change: New package installation to accommodate CLT exams in Banner. RNL index posts are required for sending Admission Acceptance letters for the 2024-2025 year.

Downtime window end: 11/09/2023 6:00 AM
Affected services: The Banner system will be up during the packages installation. Users will not be impacted.
End-user impact: No user impact expected.


Banner Admin Maintenance
Description of change: The Banner Admin client will be unavailable as maintenance and changes are performed to update the CleanAddress plugin.

End-user impact: Staff users that utilize Banner Admin will not be able to access Banner Admin during this time.


REDcap server maintenance
Description of change: Research Computing will be performing maintenance on REDCap. During this time REDCap will not be available

Affected services: REDcap
End-user impact: During this time REDCap will be completely off line, so any users trying to get to REDCap will get a REDCap is down for maintenance. For some of the maintenance they will get a 404 page not found


Citrix license update
Description of change: This is an update the Citrix license file to reflect the most recent version. This is in preparation for the installation of the latest cumulative update for Citrix Apps and Desktops as required. The license file must be updated in order to install the CU.

Waive orientation hold for newly admitted NextEra & JM students

[RESOLVED] Password Sync Issues

The password sync issue has been resolved. Passwords are updating in all systems at this time.

[RESOLVED] Some MyFAU Modules may not load properly

The issue has been resolved and MyFAU is fully functioning at this time.

We are currently investigating why certain MyFAU modules may not properly load. If a part of the MyFAU page will not load properly, refreshing may resolve the issue.

We are working to resolve this as soon possible and apologize for any inconvenience.

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/19/2023 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Server maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be making some server changes to improve the stability of the load balancers.
Downtime window start: 10/19/2023 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 10/19/2023 7:00 AM
Affected services: This will impact all services currently being handled by the load balancer from www.fau.edu, banner, talon, OnBase, lmsapps, and other services.
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected as the change be done one at a time and failing over to the load balancer that was modified.


Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be performing server maintenance on several core systems.

BHRIC VMware maintenance
Description of change: Research Computing will be performing maintenance on the BHRIC VMWare infrastructure.

Downtime window end: 10/19/2023 3:00 AM
Affected services: BHRIC VMware
End-user impact: During this time, VM’s in the “avaliable” state will be able to be logged into with no issues. However, Computers that are powered off or need a recompose will not be available until vcenter come back online

Description of change: OIT will be upgrading two virtual load balancer servers to newer versions to improve stability.
Downtime window start: 10/12/2023 4:00 AM
Downtime window end: 10/12/2023 7:00 AM
Affected services: This will impact all services currently handled by the load balancer from www.fau.edu, banner, talon, OnBase, lmsapps, and other services. The impact should be minimal as the services fail over to the other load balancer.
End-user impact: There may be a short interruption of services during the maintenance window. All services should be available after the maintenance has been completed.
