Turnitin will be undergoing essential maintenance and will be unavailable.

Network Maintenance – Jupiter Campus 8/4 5:30am – 6:30am

OIT will be performing network maintenance in Jupiter on Friday, August 4 from 05:30 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. Due to the nature of the maintenance, users may experience an intermittent network outage lasting approximately 5 minutes during this window. The Internet connection will be rerouted to the backup connection to minimize any downtime.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Aug 3 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 08/03/2017 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Server Maintenance – Mail Routing changes
We will be changing the way email is routed from our on-premises servers.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: On-Premises Exchange
Affected systems: ExchangeCA01.ad.fau.edu, ExchangeCA03.ad.fau.edu, ExchangeCA04.ad.fau.edu,
Expected End-user impact: During this time, minimal impact on users is expected. Sending an email through our on-premises exchange transport servers may fail when the service is restarted. Office 365 will not be affected.

Application maintenance – Single Sign On Page Adjustments
The Office of Information technology will be making small adjustments to the login system to improve usability and reliability
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Shibboleth, CAS, SSO
Affected systems: shibboleth1p, shibboleth2p
Expected End-user impact: During this time, users may be redirected to wordpress.fau.edu during this period. Single sign on will fail over between each server when they restart.

OIT will be updating the firmware on a switch.
Downtime window start: 4:00 AM
Downtime window end: 5:00 AM
Affected services: The following services for the Davie campus:
Active Directory, Papercut, SCCM, DHCP, DNS, LDAP,
Affected systems: dav90hv01, dav90hv02, dav90pcprt01, dav90sccmdp01, davdcfau01, davdcirm01, dhcpdav1, dnsdav1, ldapdav1
Expected End-user impact: During this time, the affected systems will not be available during the change window.

Server maintenance – Identity Management Systems (idm.fau.edu)
OIT is moving the idm.fau.edu server to a more suitable network for its usage.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: The IDM webpage
Affected systems: idm.fau.edu
Expected End-user impact: During this time, users may not be able to login to the idm site for a few minutes while the IP is changed

We are moving several servers to a more suitable network for their usage.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
OIT Units involved in the change Systems, fauapps
Affected services: owlapp and gradrates.
Affected systems: owlapp.fau.edu, gradrates.fau.edu,
Expected End-user impact: During this time, owlapp and gradrates may be unavailable for a minute while DNS is pushed to point to the new IPs. As such some users may experience connection issues while trying to access these servers.

This upgrade will cause an interruption to the fau, fauwpa2, and fauguest wireless networks. OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. July 27 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Server maintenance – Certification Authority OS Upgrade
Description of change: We will be upgrading the operating system of our internal certification authority server.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Internal certificate services (requesting new cert, renewing, crl checking).
Affected systems: BOCCA01.ad.fau.edu
Expected End-user impact: During this time, there may be unintended outages, e.g. SCCM may not be able to push software/updates during this window as it relies on certificates for encrypted communication between distribution points and endpoints. Any internal services that rely on certificates for encypted commuication will fail or present a warning of an untrusted certificate.

Server Maintenance – Webnet server migration
Description of change: We are moving the webnet servers to a more suitable network for their usage.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Monitors that may be monitoring webnet4 through webnet8
Affected systems: webnet4 through webnet8
Expected End-user impact: During this time we do not expect any end user impact. Some monitoring services may show the fau site as down while dns is changed. The FAU site will be up during this time.

DARS degree auditing system upgrade

On Tuesday, July 25th at 11pm we will begin upgrading the DARS degree auditing system to UAchieve Self-Service. During this time users will not be able to submit audits through Banner Self-Service. The upgrade will be complete by 8am Wednesday, July 26th. After the upgrade, the DARS degree audit link in Banner Self-Service will begin forwarding users to UAchieve Self-Service.
