Zoom Software, Required Update

On November 5th, 2022, customers will be required to update their Zoom client to version 5.8.6 or higher.  This is a system-wide requirement enforced by Zoom.  FAU users should already be using version 5.10 or higher.  Users should always use the latest version, when possible.  Failure to upgrade will result in loss of access to the entire zoom network.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Nov 3 from 12:00AM to 7:00AM


Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 11/03/2022 from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) Database View Update
Description of change: An Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) database view and related program will be modified for the Google to Microsoft migration project. Adding functionality to track changes for students in multiple areas in Banner.
Downtime window start: 11/03/2022 12:00 AM
Downtime window end: 11/03/2022 6:00 AM
Affected services:
End-user impact: No downtime or user interruptions are expected.


Server updates
Description of change: OIT will apply updates to servers that host GradeMan, ServiceAwards, SoftLic,TechFee

[RESOLVED] TouchNet Systems Maintenance on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM

The TouchNet payment processing system will be undergoing maintenance beginning at 3:00 am through to 7:00 am (EST) on Friday, October 28, 2022.

This affects student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services. We expect all systems to be back online no later than 7:00 am (EST) that morning. When the system is back up and ready to go, this message will be updated. You may wish to place warnings on your website, or take your store offline. If this scheduled downtime creates a conflict for your operations, please feel free to contact us at FIS@fau.edu for further discussion.

Expected End-user impact: During this maintenance period, all student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services will be unavailable.

Presentations are once again available in Mediasite Catalogs in Canvas.

Mediasite Catalog not updating

Courses that use the Mediasite catalog are not seeing new presentations added to the list. OIT is aware of this and is working with the vendor for a long-term solution. In the short term OIT will be providing direct links to presentations within a Canvas module.

OIT Systems Maintenance – Wed 10/26/22 & Thurs 10/27/22

10/27 – UPDATE 1: Banner installations are expected to be completed by 8:45am this morning.

10/27 – UPDATE 2: Banner services are all restored.

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance, which includes but is not limited to, rebooting servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/27/2022 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during the OIT maintenance window. In addition, there will be some out of cycle maintenance tasks performed Wednesday 10/26/2022. The specific details for planned and out of cycle maintenance are below:


Banner Maintenance – Pre-requisite Installations

We will be conducting maintenance on BANNER to bring the system up to date with pre-requisites for other installations. The Banner system will be unavailable during this time.

End User Impact: Students, Staff and Faculty using Banner.
Date/Time: Wednesday, 10/26/2022: 12:01AM to 7:00AM.
Services Impacted: BANNER Admin, Databases and Self-Service.


Banner Maintenance – Main Installations

We will be conducting maintenance on BANNER to bring the system up to date. The Banner system will be unavailable during this time.

End User Impact: Students, Staff and Faculty using Banner.
Date/Time: Thursday, 10/27/2022: 12:01AM to 7:00AM.
Services Impacted: BANNER Admin, Databases and Self-Service.


REDCap Update

This is a routine REDCap update. The system will be offline during update. 

End User Impact: Service will be offline during update for all users.
Date/Time: Thursday, 10/27/2022: 12:01AM to 1:00AM.
Services Impacted: REDCap.


OnBase Production Form Deployment

A new form and workflow will be migrated and installed in OnBase Production, the content management system. The new form is called the Grade Forgiveness Form. 

End User Impact: No Impact nor service downtime. This is just a new feature deployment.
Date/Time: Thursday, 10/27/2022: 2:00PM to 5:00PM
Services Impacted: Hyland OnBase.

Mediasite processing delayed

Mediasite presentations are delayed in their delivery to class channels in Canvas. OIT is working with the vendor for a solution.

[Resolved] Mass SMS Texts are being delayed or not sent

We are currently experiencing issues with the Mogli texting tool used with Salesforce. Mass texting request have been paused for the moment as we investigate.
