Mediasite Video Cloud Upgrade

Sonic Foundry will be updating Mediasite Video Cloud to the latest release during the scheduled maintenance window on May 30, between 1:01AM and 5:00AM EDT. Extended downtime is not expected. However, Mediasite may be unavailable for brief periods during this time.

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05/28/2020 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be power cycling a server chassis to correct an issue.​
Downtime window start: 4:00 AM
Downtime window end: 5:30 AM
Affected services: ​DHCP, EDUROAM RADIUS, DNS, SSO, Network gear licensing, Network gear logging
Expected End-user impact: During this time, most of the affected services have redundant counterparts so end-user impact should be minimal. If you experience any issues accessing a particular service, please try again after the maintenance has been completed.

Switch to SSO logins for document signing software
Description of change: Our document signing software (Docusign) is now setup for SSO and we will be forcing the switch from email/password logins to the SSO integration.

Downtime window end: 7:10 AM

Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected. After the change, Docusign will no longer allow email/password logins, unless requested.

Modification to the Forms Server’s settings
Description of change: OIT will apply some changes to the University’s forms server. There will be a temporary downtime while the changes are applied.
Downtime window start: 6:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: University forms server (Frevvo)
Expected End-user impact: During this time, the University form server will be unavailable and students, faculty and staff will be unable to submit many of the University forms. Users should wait until after the maintenance window to submit any forms.

[Completed]Network maintenance on May 29 at 6:00 am

OIT will be performing network maintenance on Friday, May 29 from 6:00 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. Due to the nature of the maintenance, users may experience intermittent Internet outages lasting approximately 5 minutes during this window. The Internet connection will be rerouted to the backup connection to minimize any downtime.

[resolved] Reported issues with OWA (Outlook on the Web)

UPDATE: Microsoft has resolved the issue as detailed in EX212990

Some users are receiving an error message when using OWA. Office 365 is currently experiencing issues. We will update this ticket when we have more information.

[Resolved] Mediasite Playback Issues

[13:05] Service has been restored and SonicFoundry continues to monitor the system

[10:27] SonicFoundry is aware of issues within the Mediasite Video Cloud environment, and is investigating. Users may experience playback issues, issues with live streaming, and inability to log into the Management Portal and other applications.

Description of change: OIT will apply some updates to fix a licensing issue with the Citrix setup for the OIT Lab team. Xentegra has suggested using a GPO to set RDS licensing and we are implementing this suggestion.

Expected End-user impact: During this time there might be a short downtime if the server needs to be rebooted. During that time, end-users will not be able to access virtual apps.

Turnitin Scheduled Maintenance: May 2, 2020, 11 AM – 3 PM

On May 2, 2020, Turnitin will require an emergency maintenance window from 11 AM – 3 PM EDT as a preemptive measure to avoid rescheduled maintenance work. During this time, users may experience problems submitting papers for any Turnitin assignments in Canvas courses. The maintenance should only take the first two hours of this window, however we ask that you plan for the full duration. Faculty, please use this Help Desk Request if you need assistance adjusting any Turnitin assignments that are due during the maintenance window.
