We are currently experiencing network interruptions. This impacts our major services, such as Banner, Blackboard, MyFAU, and SSO (Single-Sign On).
We are investigating the issue and will resolve it as soon as possible.

Description of maintenance: Renaming IRM WordPress blog to OIT. We will be switching over the IRM WordPress instance to the Multisite instance because the current install is out of date. All traffic previously going to http://wordpress.fau.edu/irm/ will be redirected go to http://wordpress.fau.edu/oit/.
User impact: Users may not be able to get to the blog during the switch.

OIT is upgrading the BARR print server this morning. Print jobs that are run from the mainframe in Tallahassee will not print during the upgrade process. Once the upgrade is complete any print jobs submitted during the upgrade window will continue printing.

Description of maintenance: OIT is updating several Building Blocks including Item Analysis, Assignments, Cengage MindLinks, Software Updates, Cloud Profiles, Social Profiles. These tools may be unavailable during the update, and may not function properly before a system restart which is why this is being coordinated to be done just prior to Oracle update which will require a restart anyway.
User impact: Blackboard will be unavailable during maintenance window.

Description of maintenance: OIT will perform an upgrade of the iDRAC controllers in the Jupiter and HBOI network support systems host servers.
User impact: Ability to obtain a DHCP address on the Jupiter and HBOI campuses may be impacted during the downtime window. Computers that resolve to the DNS VMs on those two systems will have to rely on their secondary DNS during the upgrade.

Description of maintenance: OIT is updating the systems servicing DNS, DHCP and Windows Authentication for the Davie campus.
User impact: DNS and DHCP will be unavailable from 3:00 – 4:00AM and Windows Authentication from Davie will be unavailable from 3 – 6:30AM. Davie users should be able to resolve DNS via their secondary DNS servers. DHCP leases expiring or new DHCP requests will be unavailable from 3:00AM – 4:00AM. Windows Authentication requests should be serviced by off campus Domain Controllers.
Starting Monday 6/2/14 The OIT Networking Department will be upgrading the network equipment in building 80 the Student Support Services Facility building.
The work will be performed between the hours of 4:00 am to 7:00 am daily until all network interface ports have been moved to the new equipment.
All work will be completed by Friday 6/20/14.

Description of maintenance: FAU’s web base authentication system will be upgraded to provide additional security features such as Two Factor Authentication, improved user session termination and improved reliability. In addition all expired user passwords will be extended between 30 to 180 days. This will allow users time to respond to the password expiration warnings before they are force to change their password.
User impact: Users may need to refresh their browsers and possibly clear their browser cache. Users will see a new user interface with improved navigation. Users with expired passwords will have their password expiration extended between 30 and 180 days.
