Banner Admin performance issues

We are currently experiencing some performance issues with Banner Admin resulting in slow login times. Our team is currently working to restore the service to normal performance levels. We apologize for any inconvenience.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Jan 18 from 12:01AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 01/18/2024 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Description of change: OIT will apply some updates to identify students who meet the requirements for General Education

Description of change: OIT will apply some updates to allow “Graduate Warning” to appear on official transcripts

Application Updates
Description of change: OIT will apply updates to allow Slate integrations in Banner.

Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be updating the software on one of its management servers.

Affected services: Advanced VPN clients
End-user impact: Advanced VPN clients will show that they are disconnected from their management server. This will not impact VPN/remote access.

[RESOLVED] Zoom recording import to Mediasite issue

Zoom imports to Mediasite have resumed.

Zoom recording import to Mediasite issue

Currently, recordings made in zoom and configured for import to Mediasite are not being imported. OIT is working with the vendor to investigate and remedy this issue.

Manual upload via My Mediasite is still available.

[RESOLVED] Workday Service Interruption

UPDATE 1/8/2024 3:00PM:

Workday identified issues with their Internet Service Provider, and are now using an alternate route which has corrected the outage. All systems are now operational.

ORIGINAL:

Our production Workday tenant is currently experiencing a service disruption. This is a nationwide outage, impacting multiple clients. Workday is aware of the issue and they are working at restoring the service. Thank you.

[Resolved] Mediasite-Canvas Integration Error

The issue with the Mediasite-Canvas Integration Error has been resolved. Links and catalogs are working as well as MyMediasite and the embed tool.

[Update] Mediasite-Canvas Integration Error

OIT and the vendor continue to work to mitigate this error. At this time Links and catalogs should be available in Canvas, however access to MyMediasite and the Embed tool are still reporting errors.

Mediasite-Canvas Integration Error

Users are experiencing a LTI error when trying to access Mediasite through Canvas. OIT is aware problem and is investigating the situation with the vendor. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Research Computing Cluster Maintenance

The network infrastructure team will be replacing a failing switch within the Research Computing Cluster between 2:45 pm and 3 pm this afternoon. Please report any issues to https://helpdesk.fau.edu and will investigate as needed.

[Resolved] Research Computing Resources

FAU’s OIT run Research Computing equipment in Jupiter is currently experiencing a network outage. The Infrastructure team is investigating and will provide more information as it comes in.

Affected Services:
Athene: Our experimental EL8 cluster (ssh://athene-login.hpc.fau.edu) is currently offline.
OwlStore: Our newest flash-based storage cluster is currently offline.
