OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Feb 23 from 12:01AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 02/23/2023 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Single-Sign On Prompting Engine Upgrade
Description of change: OIT will be upgrading the Single Sign On Prompting Engine to improve reliability, performance, and usability.
Downtime window start: 02/23/2023 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 02/23/2023 6:00 AM
Affected services: Single Sign On and any applications using SSO.
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected during the change. The SSO page will have a new look after the change.


REDCap Update
Description of change: This is a routine REDCap update. Will be offline during update.
Downtime window start: 02/23/2023 12:00 AM
Downtime window end: 02/23/2023 1:00 AM
Affected services: REDCap
End-user impact: Service will be offline during update.


Desktop Updates for Admissions Office Computer Systems
Description of change: OIT will be making adjustments to Admissions desktops and laptops on February 23rd 2023. OIT will work with Admissions to communicate the changes and what can be expected.

Downtime window end: 02/23/2023 1:05 PM
Affected services: Undergraduate Admission user desktops and laptops
End-user impact: This change only impacts Undergraduate Admissions staff. After the change, Undergraduate Admissions staff will be prompted to authenticate with DUO when logging in to their desktops and laptops.

FAU Graduate Admissions App Intermittent issues

The Graduate Admissions App (cobapp.fau.edu) is currently offline due to problems with a back-end system. The problem is being investigated and we will update this post when it is online.

The MYFAU issue has been resolved and all pages should be loading correctly.

[RESOLVED] TouchNet Systems Maintenance, Friday, February 24th from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

The TouchNet payment processing system will be undergoing maintenance -Starting from 3:00am to 7:00am (EST) Friday, February 24th. This affects student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services. We expect all systems to be back online no later than 7:00 am (EST) that morning. When the system is back up and ready to go, we will notify you. You may wish to place warnings on your website, or take your store offline. If this scheduled downtime creates a conflict for your operations, please feel free to contact us at FIS@fau.edu for further discussion. Expected End-user impact: During this time all student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services will be unavailable during this maintenance cycle.

HEALTH VMWare Outage – Returned to normal at 6:00 AM

Research Computing is working with VMware to address a issue with https://vhealth.fau.edu .

Some users connecting to this environment will not be able to get connected. Once this is fixed this message will be updated.

BHRIC Virtual Desktops

We are currently investigating some users having issues connecting to BHRIC Virtual Desktops. We will check back in on or around 1pm as we learn more.

Clean Address Application Service Interruption

Our service called clean address is currently experiencing issues. Any pages that use this product to sanitize addresses are impacted. Two areas with most use are:

Pages may not load correctly. We are working on a temporary fix for the Personal Information page, and we are working with our vendor to restore the service.

[Resolved] Mediasite Instability

Mediasite appears to have returned to normal operations. Engineers will continue to monitor the situation and OIT will update as the issue warrants.
