Addition of Google Workspace Quota Login Prompt

Starting at 4 pm October 14th, 2022 users who are using more than 5GB in Google Workspace will receive a notification upon login to all SSO services. This prompt will continue until they decrease their Google Workspace usage. Please be aware that it may take up to 48 hours for Google correctly report usage to OIT so please be patient after cleaning up your account. OIT will be suspending inactive Alumni accounts (those not used for +180 days) at 8 am Thursday, October 13th.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs 10/13/22 & Fri 10/14/22

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/13/2022 from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window and Friday, 10/14/2022 from 10:00PM to 10:30PM. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Maintenance Research Computing storage
Description of change: Research Computing will be performing maintenance on the BHRIC storage
Downtime window start: 10/13/2022 12:00 AM
Downtime window end:10/13/2022 5:00 AM
Affected services: BHRIC virtual machines
End-user impact: None expected. However, this houses new BHRIC VM’s and there maybe a small window where there is a slowdown. However, no service interruption should occur


Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT is upgrading the software for our email servers.
Downtime window start: 10/13/2022 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 10/13/2022 4:00 AM
Affected services: Email
End-user impact: None expected as email servers are being upgraded incrementally.


Network Adjustments – Boca and Jupiter Campuses
Description of change: OIT will be performing network maintenance from 10:00 p.m. until 10:30 on Friday October 14th affecting the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses.

OIT will be performing network maintenance tonight from 10:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. affecting all campuses. As a result of this maintenance, all connectivity to services and the internet will be disrupted for up to 10 minutes on each campus during the maintenance window.

Server Maintenance Aptitude Remote Service
Description of change: The Office of Information Technology will be performing maintenance on a remote server used by the Aptitude team and other OIT users.

Affected services: Aptitude Remote Service

RESOLVED – Workday FAU Production Tenant Experiencing Performance Issues

Workday has alerted us that they found the source of the service degradation issue and have resolved it. We tested and the system is now back to standard performance.

Workday alerted us that they are having issues with Production tenants hosted in their WD1 Data Center. They are trying to determine the root cause so they can restore the service to normal operation. Users may experience slow loading pages, tasks not running, including the home page not loading when logging in. We will continue to monitor Workday’s progress and update this announcement as we receive alerts.

Disallow personal devices from being managed by FAU’s Microsoft tenant
Description of change: OIT will be disabling the feature that allows personal devices to be joined to FAU’s Microsoft Azure AD.

Affected services: Personal devices
End-user impact: End users will no longer be able to join their personal devices to Azure AD


Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be performing server maintenance on Banner. During this time, access to the job scheduling system may be unavailable.
