OIT Maintenance Notification – July 7–15, 2026

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will be performing routine systems maintenance, including but not limited to server reboots, security updates, configuration changes, and infrastructure upgrades during approved maintenance windows. The following systems and services may be impacted:


OWLDone and SPOT Server Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be performing server maintenance that will require downtime for OWLDone and SPOT.

Change Window Start: July 7, 2026, 10:00 PM
Change Window End: July 8, 2026, 12:00 AM

Affected Services:

  • OWLDone
  • SPOT

Expected End-User Impact:
Faculty and students may be unable to access OWLDone and SPOT during the maintenance window.


Banner Access Management Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be making configuration changes to Banner Access Management and related database tables.

Change Window Start: July 7, 2026, 5:00 PM
Change Window End: July 7, 2026, 6:00 PM

Affected Services:

  • Banner Access Management
  • Database tables GURUOBJ and GURUCLS

Expected End-User Impact:
No end-user impact is anticipated.


Enterprise Systems Server Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be performing server maintenance affecting several enterprise applications and services. Some applications may experience intermittent outages while UAchieve will be unavailable.

Description of Change:
OIT will be performing scheduled maintenance on Banner.

Change Window End: July 9, 2026, 7:00 AM

Expected End-User Impact:
Banner Admin and Banner Self-Service will be unavailable during the maintenance window.


Server Security Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be applying incremental security updates to several web servers.

Change Window End: July 9, 2026, 4:30 AM

Wireless Authentication Changes – Jupiter and Harbor Branch

Description of Change:
OIT will be updating the authentication method for the eduroam and WPA2 wireless networks.

Change Window Start: July 9, 2026, 6:00 AM
Change Window End: July 9, 2026, 7:00 AM

Affected Services:

  • eduroam wireless network
  • WPA2 wireless network

Expected End-User Impact:
Users may be prompted to re-authenticate their wireless devices.


Banner Database Account Maintenance

Description of Change:
Several Banner database accounts will be temporarily disabled as part of maintenance activities and subsequently re-enabled.

Change Window Start: July 9, 2026, 10:00 AM
Change Window End: July 9, 2026, 11:00 AM

Affected Services:

  • Applications and integrations utilizing affected Banner database accounts

Expected End-User Impact:
Integrations or applications using the affected accounts may experience temporary interruptions until the accounts are restored.


Desktop Access Changes – Administrative Departments

Description of Change:
OIT will be implementing desktop access changes for select administrative departments, including the removal of the Duo login window at Windows sign-in and requiring FAU VPN access for remote connections.

Expected End-User Impact:

[RESOLVED] MYFAU Sign-In Experience Unavailable

The MYFAU sign-in issue has been resolved. Services were restored at 8:07 a.m. ET, and users should now be able to access MYFAU without interruption.


We are currently aware of an issue affecting the MYFAU sign-in experience. Users may be unable to log in to MYFAU at this time.

Our team is actively investigating the issue and working to restore service as quickly as possible. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

[RESOLVED] Registration Self-Service Issue

We have received reports that students are encountering the error “Time tickets prevent registration at this time” when attempting to register for classes.

This issue appears to be impacting students. We are currently investigating and reviewing potential causes. We will update this message as soon as more information becomes available.

[Resolved] Respondus Lockdown Browser Issues

UPDATE, 6:21PM – This incident has been reported as resolved by Respondus. Lockdown Browser is functioning as expected.

Users trying to access Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor may run into intermittent errors and loading screens. This is impacting users who try starting a Respondus Monitor exam (webcam enabled) and instructors who try viewing the Lockdown Browser Dashboard within their Canvas courses.

Touchnet Login Issues

We received reports from users and have just received notice from Touchnet that there are issues logging in to their service. Please see their message below, we will update this message once we hear more.

TouchNet is aware that some customers and payers may be receiving errors when attempting to access U.Commerce or complete payments within our applications. We understand the disruption this may create for your campus community and are treating this matter with urgency. Our teams are actively working to restore full service, and we currently expect services to be available within one hour. We will provide another update by 10:00 AM CT, if not before.

Single Sign-On (SSO) – Ongoing Momentary Login Issues



Update 06/23/26 – 12:55PM:

We continue to see login issues with Microsoft . Users are getting a 502 or 503 error. We have notified Microsoft and we are waiting for a resolution.

[Resolved] Password Reset Service Interruption

OIT is currently investigating issues affecting accounts.fau.edu, specifically impacting the self-service password reset function. We are working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience while we resolve this issue.
