OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Jan 31 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 01/31/2019 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Server Maintenance  – PaperCut update
Description of change: OIT will be implementing a fix for the PaperCut service in the Library.
Downtime window start: 4:00 AM
Downtime window end: 4:30 AM
Affected services: PaperCut printing.
Affected systems: PaperCut server
Expected End-user impact: During this time, users will not be able to print via PaperCut​.

Undergraduate Admissions Updates
Description of change: A series of enhancements and updates are being requested from the Undergraduate Admissions team. These updates have been deployed in Test as of November 27th, and are being testing and verified by the UG Admissions team.  The enhancements include:  Add SAT subScores to Undergraduate Application; Add WHC interest question; Post Secondary Bug Fix; FUTURE PLANS: change wording, add MDC; Fix International Numbers. Not all changes have been approved and some will be deployed during regular hours as they do not impact the application in terms of availability or downtime.

Office 365 license assignment
Description of change: OIT will be modifying the 365 licenses assigned to users

Banner Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be upgrading or patching the BANNER XE system with 20 different releases during the FAUP maintenance window on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
There are 21 Harvest packages over 17 TD Incident numbers but the DBAs have reviewed the list and have determined that all of these items can be installed within the timeframe allotted for the FAUP maintenance window.

Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: No service impact expected
Affected systems: BANNER XE
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected.

[RESOLVED] Mediasite Service Disruption

Cloud services have been restored, and at this time we do not anticipate any further disruptions

Restoration of the services did require restoring from a prior database backup for the site.  You may need to re-publish MDR recordings made in the last 48 hours that are missing.

Mediasite Service Disruption

The scheduled maintenance that began at 12:01AM last night resulted in performance issues in the environment. Some sites on the environment are currently offline. Engineers are investigating and restoring services as quickly as possible. We will send out another notice when the situation has been fully resolved and/or as more details become available.

Mediasite Service Degradation

Mediasite is reporting degraded service across all their services.  OIT is monitoring the situation.  Users can expect possible intermittent slowness or error messages while video continues to play.

Mediasite Maintenance

Sonic Foundry will be performing maintenance on the Mediasite Cloud Servers during their scheduled maintenance window on January 26th between 1:01AM EST and 5:00AM EST. This maintenance requires taking the environment offline, and as such Mediasite will not be available during this window. We do not expect any downtime before or after the designated window.

The MYFAU mail icon issue has been resolved.

[RESOLVED] Intermittent telephone Issues

The issue with the phone system has been resolved. You are now able to call the university from the outside.

We are currently experiencing some intermittent inbound phone system issues. This impacts when calling the University from outside the University.

Canvas Mandatory Course Entry Quiz – Maintenance

Canvas Mandatory Course Entry Quiz was not showing up for users with High Contrast UI Setting Enabled for Canvas. We have corrected the problem and will be deploying the change to production shortly.  The Quiz may be unavailable for a short period of time while the changes are deployed.
