OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. May 12 from 12:01AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05/12/2016 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Multi-factor authentication for WebFocus
When: 3:00AM – 5:00AM
Affected services: WebFocus
Affected systems: ibiweb4.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: OIT will be implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for WebFocus users.
User impact: WebFocus and/or Leapahead dashboards will be unavailable during this time. After the implementation, WebFocus users will be prompted to use authenticate with Duo when logging in.

PGP Management server upgrade
When: 12:01AM – 1:00AM
Affected services: PGP Desktop
Affected systems: Bocsec.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: OIT will upgrade the PGP Management server
User impact: There is no anticipated user impact

Banner CRN extract for Blackboard survey attendance for Summer 2016 1, 2 term
When: 3:00AM – 5:00AM
Affected services: There is no anticipated impact on services.
Affected systems: BANNER Production (FAUP)
Description of maintenance: Modify Banner CRN extract program for 2016 summer 1 and 2 term.
User impact: There is no anticipated user impact

Issues with Duo- Multi-factor Authentication

Google has suspended any user who has clicked the link. To enable your account, you must reset your Owlapps password. We recommend that you reset both your Owlapps and FAUNet ID passwords to avoid any future issues.

Description of maintenance: OIT will upgrade the operating system on andisec to a newer version (Server 2012 R2)
User impact: All SFTP and network shares on andisec will be unavailable during the window

Banner Financial Aid 8.26.0.1 patch
When: 3:00AM to 7:00AM
Affected services: N/A
Affected systems: Banner Financial Aid
Description of maintenance: Install the Financial Aid 8.26.0.1 patch in production. This release resolves a problem that came up during the testing of the Financial Aid 8.26.0 upgrade. That upgrade was placed on hold pending the release of this patch. The upgrade and patch are required for completion of College of Medicine financial aid awards.
User impact: None expected

Emergency Internet Maintenance from Midnight until 6:00 am on 4/13 and 4/14

Due to emergency third-party fiber maintenance from the vendor that provides Internet and network connectivity to FAU, there will be work performed that will sporadically affect connectivity to the campus from midnight until 6:00 a.m. on 4/13 and 4/14. We are making efforts to ensure that services are available as much as possible through the maintenance by utilizing backup internet connections and disaster recovery procedures. However, there may be intermittent and sporadic losses of connectivity due to the nature of the outage.
