On Sunday, March 6, 2016, between 12:01 am and 6:00 am, OIT will perform an upgrade to the network router on the Boca Raton and Jupiter Campus. This upgrade will cause an interruption to the data and telephone networks on the Boca Raton and Jupiter campus. If you experience difficulties after the times outlined above, please contact the FAU help desk at 561-297-3999 for immediate assistance.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. March 3 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 03/03/2016 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. Description of change: Due to a critical patch needing to be applied numerous Linux systems run by the Middleware team will be rebooted.

Description of change: Install all outstanding Banner Financial Aid upgrades/patches in production. The upgrade is an emergency release from Ellucian and the patch corrects a problem with disbursements.

[Resolved] DHCP temporarily unavailable

At approximately 12:45pm we experienced an issue with DHCP and some users may have experienced a network outage at that time. Service was quickly restored by 1:00pm.

When: 3:00AM to 6:00AM
Affected services: Password sync, account creation and claiming
Affected systems: boc22ora07 (OIMP), boc22ora03 (MSOP, IDMP), boc22oimp1, boc22oimp2, boc22oimwebp1, boc22oimwebp2
Description of maintenance: Due to a critical patch that needs to be installed on all Linux systems, we will need to restart the production OIM and IDM database and application servers
User impact: Passwords will not synchronize during this time so we recommend not changing your password until after the maintenance window is done.

Update and restart of MyFAU

Description of maintenance: OIT will restart the database servers for MyFAU due to new patches being installed.

[Resolved] Temporary disruption of DNS services

OIT will be restarting all DNS systems at 12:00PM. The system restarts will be staggered to minimize impact to computers on the FAU network. Please note you may experience slowed response times when contacting other systems over the network or internet as a result of DNS request time-outs. We expect all DNS systems to return fully to service by 12:30PM.

Ft Lauderdale Campus (HEC Tower) Telephone Issue

“Resolved” AT&T has repaired the Phone Cable and all services are back working properly.

“Update” The expected resolution date is Monday 2/22/2016  no specific time on Monday has been given.

We are experiencing an issue with the Telephones on the Ft Lauderdale Campus (HEC Tower) . A Cable has been cut that feeds the Building and the Vendor has been notified. The Phone system is in Survivability mode which allows out going calls, Campus to Campus calls but incoming from off campus has been effected.

[resolved] Jupiter campus Internet issue

The Internet provider on the Jupiter campus has restored the fiber.  Internet traffic in Jupiter is now utilizing the proper path.
