OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. April 21 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 04/21/2014 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

ANDISEC system upgrade
When: 3:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services: All SFTP and network shares on andisec
Affected systems: ANDISEC
Description of maintenance: OIT will upgrade the operating system on andisec to a newer version (Server 2012 R2)
User impact: All SFTP and network shares on andisec will be unavailable during the window

Affected services: FrevvoAPI
Affected systems: atlantic.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: OIT is adding support for Talisma XML Email

Banner Financial Aid 8.26.0.1 patch
When: 3:00AM to 7:00AM
Affected services: N/A
Affected systems: Banner Financial Aid
Description of maintenance: Install the Financial Aid 8.26.0.1 patch in production. This release resolves a problem that came up during the testing of the Financial Aid 8.26.0 upgrade. That upgrade was placed on hold pending the release of this patch. The upgrade and patch are required for completion of College of Medicine financial aid awards.
User impact: None expected

Emergency Internet Maintenance from Midnight until 6:00 am on 4/13 and 4/14

Due to emergency third-party fiber maintenance from the vendor that provides Internet and network connectivity to FAU, there will be work performed that will sporadically affect connectivity to the campus from midnight until 6:00 a.m. on 4/13 and 4/14. We are making efforts to ensure that services are available as much as possible through the maintenance by utilizing backup internet connections and disaster recovery procedures. However, there may be intermittent and sporadic losses of connectivity due to the nature of the outage.

SPOT Maintenance Window

The SPOT (Student Perception of Teaching) survey site will be unavailable for scheduled maintenance starting at 3:00pm on Thursday, April 7th, 2016.

The estimated downtime is approximately two hours.

In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Blackboard building block install
When: 5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: Blackboard
Affected systems: Blackboard
Description of maintenance: OIT will install a new Pearson Building Block to facilitate Grade Synchronization between certain Pearson courses and Blackboard
User impact: This will require rolling restarts, so the downtime should be minimal, if any.

When: 5:30AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: jira and kb (confluence)
Affected systems: jira.fau.edu / kb.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: We are changing the internet addresses of jira.fau.edu and confluence.fau.edu to allow access from outside of FAU.
User impact: Users of the jira project tracking system and of the oit confluence collaborative documentation site will not be able to connect

When: 3:00AM – 7:00AM

Affected systems: Banner Financial Aid
Description of maintenance: Install Financial Aid 8.26.0 upgrade in production. This is a critical upgrade release and the Financial Aid office has been waiting for it for several weeks. They need it in order to begin processing incoming student financial aid awards.
User impact: No user impact is anticipated

RESOLVED: Echo360 Service Restart — Media Upload Issue
