OIT Systems Maintenance, Thursday, January 21 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 01/21/2016 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.

In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Increase storage space on IDM system
When: 6:00AM – 6:30AM
Affected services: IDM​
Affected systems: idmgatewayp.fau.edu​
Description of maintenance: OIT will be increasing the storage space on a system that supports account and password sync.​
User impact: Password synchronizations may be slower during this time.

OIM Database Schema Updates
When: 5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: Oracle Identity Manager
Affected systems: Oracle Identity Manager
Description of maintenance: The database schema will be changed to support features in third party services that use OIM database.
User impact: None expected

PDU installation in RF 219, Rack JRS-01. Jupiter Campus
When: 4:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services: ​Netreg including DHCP, DNS, and LDAP for the Jupiter Campus.
Affected systems: ​JUP17HV01
Description of maintenance: ​There will be a disruption in netreg services on the Jupiter campus between 4AM and 6AM. This is due to the fact that we need to power down the systems located in JRS-01 and swap out the rack PDUs.

TouchNet Systems Unavailable Wednesday, January 20 from 3:00AM to 5:00AM

The TouchNet payment processing system will be undergoing maintenance on Wednesday, January 20 from 3:00 am to 5:00 am.  –

During this time, student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services will be unavailable and will not be able to handle any payment requests.

We expect all systems to be back online no later than 5:00 am that morning.

[RESOLVED] OIM Restart (Production), Tuesday, Jan 12th @ 12:00am

The OIM updates have been successful and SMS capabilities have been restored.  Downtime was experienced from 12:00am to 12:14am, during this time users were redirected to the WordPress site.

The production OIM environment will be restarted to address an issue with an updated SSL certificate by our SMS gateway.

This restart will specifically resolve issues experienced by users who are activating new accounts, or attempting a password recovery via SMS through https://accounts.fau.edu.

The restart will begin at 12:00am and should be completed by 12:30am.

Blackboard Issues [UPDATE]

We are currently working with Blackboard Support investigating reports of multiple issues including:

  • Difficulty copying and moving content
  • A pop up message stating “Batch Already Loaded”
  • Difficulty loading the Grade Center
  • Inaccurate results in course reporting

Update: The course reporting is still not working correctly.  We believe that we have the other listed issues resolved.  If you continue to experience a problem please submit a ticket.

On Wednesday, January 6, 2016, between 3:00 am and 6:00 am, OIT will perform an upgrade on the network router on the Boca Raton Campus. This upgrade may cause an interruption to the data networks on the Boca Raton campus. Network Maintenance – Tuesday 12/22/2015 from 5:00 a.m. until 5:30 a.m.

OIT will be performing maintenance on the core network on the Boca campus from 5:00 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. During this time, most services on the Boca campus will experience a service interruption lasting approximately 15 minutes. Connectivity to and from the internet for most users will not be affected during the maintenance.

[RESOLVED] TeamDynamix help desk system slowness

The vendor has reported that this issue is resolved:

 

Beginning at approximately 10:08 AM EST today, our software began experiencing performance degradation. Service was restored to normal at 11:20 AM EST. We disabled some automated email alerts for a time, and those alerts were re-enabled at 11:55 AM EST.

 

All of our services are fully restored to normal. We have discovered the root cause and are taking active steps to ensure this problem does not recur in the future.

 

We thank you again for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

We are still investigating this problem, but we have narrowed it down to our automated email alerts service. We have disabled automated alerts (such as “Ticket Closed” alerts) until we are confident we have isolated and corrected the issue, at which point you will receive another email notification indicating we have resolved the problem.
