NETWORK MAINTENANCE – All Campuses on Thursday, May 15th from 5:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.

OIT will be performing network maintenance affecting all campuses from 5:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15th. During this time, all campuses will experience an interruption in connectivity to the Internet and to internal network-based services.

OIT Systems Maintenance

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 5/08/2025 from 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Banner Server Maintenance – Oracle RU 2025 Q2
Description of Change: OIT will be performing Server maintenance from 12:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. on Thursday 8 May.  Banner will not be available during this time.
Change Window: 5/8/2025 12:00am – 5/8/2025 7:00am
Impacted Services: Banner Admin, Self-Service, Registration, Access Management, ODS
End User impact: All end users of Banner Self Service, ODS and Admin will be impacted.


Server Maintenance
Description of Change: OIT will be performing server maintenance from 10:00pm until 12:00am on Wednesday, May 7th. During this time, the undergraduate application, MyOwl Services, Owl KPIs, Owl Docs, and Uachieve will be unavailable.

REDCap Update
Description of Change: OIT Research Computing will be taking the REDCap survey tool offline from 12 am to 2 am on Thursday, May 8, 2025 for standard systems maintenance.

Server Maintenance
Description of Change: OIT will be migrating a server responsible for authentication on the Fort Lauderdale campus

Textbook Attestation enhancements  
Description of Change: Faculty attestation page to provide user the option to view submission history Chair/delegate page to provide user the option to view submission history  Faculty attestation page to include “review all” materials button

SWAETBL form modifications

The cause was identified and resolved. All services have been restored.

[Resolved] Mediasite Catalog

The issue authenticating with the Mediasite Catalogs in Canvas has been resolved.

[Update] Mediasite Catalog

We believe we have identified the issue with the intermittent errors affecting the Mediasite Catalog in Canvas. We are currently taking steps to mitigate this issue. This process should be completed by this (Tuesday 5/29) evening.

Mediasite Catalog

Some users are reporting intermittent issues accessing the Mediasite Catalog in Canvas.  A case has been opened and is pending with the vendor.

If you encounter a stale request, you can attempt to side-step the issue by reloading the catalog (click on the catalog link from the menu), or by clicking to another LTI tool such as Zoom and back to the catalog.

[RESOLVED] Partial wireless outage on the Boca campus, General Classroom South

Update (1:55pm): Wireless services have been restored and the OIT team is continuing to monitor the situation.

Banner Maintenance

[Resolved] Zoom Canvas Integration Errors

UPDATE: This is resolved. The integration is back to normal operation.

Users are experiencing errors when trying to load the Zoom Canvas integration in their courses. We will be updating this post as we receive updates on this issue.

In the meantime, meeting hosts can copy the join URL for their upcoming meetings and share them via email, announcements, etc. To do so:

  1. Go to https://fau-edu.zoom.us and click the Sign In button.
  2. If prompted, sign in with your FAU credentials.
  3. Click the Meetings button in the navigation menu on the left.
  4. Click the title of your upcoming meeting.
  5. Click the copy button for the Invite Link (screenshot below):
  1. Paste the link in a message/announcement to the attendees/students that need to attend.

Once sent, your attendees will be able to join your meeting by opening the link. As the host you can start the meeting by clicking the Start button on the page where you copied the link.
